^ Pretty sure that's an early 50's (50-53) 5-window Chevy pickup. The addition of the two curved pieces of glass in the rear pillars makes it rare. Or, rather, desirable. Not sure if people cut up 3-window trucks to make them 5-window or not.

The more I see the Huracan the more I actually like it. It's going to give 458 a serious run for its money. Both similar size and while the Aventador matches with the 599GTO I think the Huracan is 458's direct challenger!

Yeah, Lamborghini may have an edge, for now, in terms of the Huracan's performance and style compared to the 458. Ferrari isn't gonna let Lambo get all the limelight.

The 458 replacement will have a turbocharged V8. The Bull isn't gonna bully the Prancing Horse.

Not sure how I feel about Ferrari going to turbocharging- it's not going to be anything like the 288GTO or F40 to be sure. I'm not entirely optimistic about the V8TT in the 458 successor after driving the CaliforniaT... it's the only reason I jumped into a 458 today, as opposed to waiting for the new model to drop.

That was bad timing. Switzerland has a very high ratio of nice cars on road. I've been to Zurich before and spotted lots of nice cars. Nothing too crazy though...

3 BMW i8's on a trailer being dropped off at the BMW store on Burrard, at around 8pm tonight. Was dark, not much to see so no pic. But I followed the truck just to make sure; thought they were LFA's from a distance, then saw them up close.

from my vague recollection (yes, i am old and i was around when this car was new) you could only get the sportbak in the US and was not available in canada, so for pulsar owners it's sort of a big deal (someone correct me if i am wrong).

Was this in Victoria/on the island? I'm pretty sure I saw that same Rav4 about a week or two earlier at UVic. It was on display at a booth with 2 other hybrid vehicles. Makes sense seeing this post now, cause I had no idea at the time why a Rav4 had anything to do with hybrid/electric cars.

The Super Save guys are my old neighbors. Grew up with their kids, who now run the different businesses out of that same olf building.

The Audi is a nice car, and a fine change from the GM vehicles they've been driving for years. The addition of the Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and soon to be Porsche, Range Rover, and Jaguar dealerships have changed the look of Langley's roads immensely.

Driver of that blue chrome wrapped Aventador goes to UBC. See it in the parkade all the time. Looks real gaudy up close, guy usually keeps his spoiler up all the time as well even when parked, just doesn't look quite right. Wheels are way too busy as well :heckno:

It looked similar to a 1970's corvette but it was smaller and had a bit of a euro vibe to it. Had similar corvette rear lights. It had racing/sponsor decals all over it. Anyone know what that car might be? I would have snapped a picture but i was doing a drivers test.

It didn't have full racing livery for sure.
It had this on the side, but massive. I think it was the only decal on the car. Car was BEAUTIFUL, but the graphics were way out of place.

I saw this on HWY 10 and 146th street yesterday, it wasn't perfect but still looked nice.

Judging by plate on top that says "37 RR" it's a 37 Rolls Royce? The one on the bottom was a BC vintage plate, it was a older woman driving it, the steering wheel looked huge!

Fuck....dat lancia.:sweetjesus: I saw a different one on cornwall with some decals on it. White as well, loud as fuck but had these WRC championship decals on it that made it look like a rolling trophy.
I really wish i Got a better picture of that lancia. By the time i got my phone out it was blocked by a few other cars, was lucky to catch it between the traffic. It was very tastefully modded with some slight camber and nicely fitted rims. Didn't hear an engine noise tho :(.

Wow. Three of the 375 P1s that were made live in Vancouver? That's crazy! Seems like that's a pretty good indicator of how much more "money" there is in Vancouver now compared to like ten years ago.

Let me know if I'm wrong, but it seemed like back then, the rich folks here had $250,000 cars like in the Ferrari 360, and the real ballers had the $400,000 cars like the Murcielago... but that was about it. Nobody had the top end supercars here like the F50, Enzo or McLaren F1 (my favorite car of all time)... only some folks in Alberta.

Nowadays, 458 Italias at $300,000 a pop are almost common, and even Aventadors at $500,000 each aren't all that rare. However, the biggest change is that there are the ultra ballers here now that can afford P1s and stuff that are well over $1M.

I want to see one of these P1s in person!

-buddy of mine who works at ICBC says that the driver contacts the special coverage underwriter because the driver must buy "own-damage coverage". This coverage is separate from Auto Plan. There are higher insurance premiums for sure given the higher risk of a driver crashing his/her Lambo, Ferrari, Pagani, etc.

Own damage coverage is a combo of collision and comprehensive insurance.

I have the specialized coverage for my Bentley, the yearly rate isn't that bad but the deductible is nuts. I believe mine is around $5,000 per claim and I don't have a secondary driver added because the extra coverage is really expensive if you want to add a secondary driver to your plan.

just a couple nights ago 2 aventadors and 2 458's drove by me and i was more or less meh about it and didnt really give it a second thought *i did quite enjoy the noise though however*

Rarity is definitely part of the appeal of a car. Although a 458 is much more impressive than a 355 the 355 will get my attention anytime. Having a nice new car only takes money. Having a nice modified car or classic requires taste and knowledge of cars as well. Not to say that there aren't car enthusiasts going to a dealership and getting amazing new cars, it's just less likely it's about that when it comes to those types of cars in this city.

yups, i remember seeing a really mint first gen saab 900 turbo a while back and i was trying to catch up to it just to get a better look at it lol.

plus i think theres also a large part of just appreciation to the owner for buying such a car when it comes to "nice" new cars. i.e. with a 458, you dont really sense that the owner bought it cus its a hell of a car to drive but rather as a status symbol, whereas a e63 amg wagon on the other hand, i believe that the owner really did appreciate the niche-ness of a batshit crazy estate car.

Interesting how they added 2013 & Newer Koenigsegg to the list of luxury cars on the icbc website that need additional coverage, albeit no specific model.

As well I heard from people involved with luxury insurance at icbc that there was talks about paperwork for one being done up. Maybe it didn't pan out?

Has a Koenigsegg ever been here via any car shows?

I saw a Mercedes GLA 45 AMG. It is dark gray colour, with dark gloss wheels, roof spoiler and it also had some red accent striping on the bumpers. I couldn't take any pics because I was driving. I spotted it this morning driving down E.1st ave towards Vancouver. I could tell the owner just bought the car cause he was driving it very slow and it had a November ICBC sticker on the plates. Very nice car and it looks much better in person.

Its obviously different for everyone, I know some guys in the US who spent in excess of 80K just to have a R34 illegally imported, one guy shelled out nearly 150,000. You live with the constant risk/thought that homeland security will show up and seize the cars. Car will be gone, and youll be slapped with a $27,000 fine

I've always asked WHY? When there's so many options at that price point, and not one of them can answer it with anything other than "I know, don't remind me..."

I'm pretty sure if I had the money I wouldn't think twice about getting a R34 GTR. Except I love R32's more, and finding a clean, unmodified, low mileage R34 GTR for a reasonable price in Japan is pretty much impossible.

Saw one of those on the street the other day, the 45 and the standard 250. The car just doesn't look right in any way at all. All the proportions are screwed up, the red trim looks like some time attack wannabe shit, and can we please be honest that spoiler is pretty godawful. It's the bastard child of the CLA and A that got beat by an ugly stick.

Parents just got one of the new B250s, I would much rather have a proper hatchback with correct proportions than this really strange and awkward looking thing, regardless of how fast it goes. If I want the same drivetrain, there's always the much sexier looking CLA45.

B250's not even a comparable car, yes its technically a hatchback but its in the compact segment. This is a lot more bigger and spacious all the while its sad they call it a "SUV".
