I felt like his positioning was off (1st goal for sure). Similar situations we've seen Demko make the saves.

2nd goal was a bit unlucky. He was coming across and the puck got slowed down by Sutter's stick, Matthews just chopped at the puck and it fluttered over the shoulder. Maybe a goalie that was a few inches taller would have luckily saved it off the shoulder. I don't think the positioning was bad.

I have mixed feelings about the whole fighting and code thing.
Edler got 2 games plus the game misconduct. And why would you send Simmons in to fight Edler, who's never fought before.

I'm really not a huge fan of all the fights that happen after a big hit. Player has their head down with the puck and gets steamed rolled.

But what's even worse was the other game against the Sens when Tkachuk comes in with a late hit that was going to be called for interference then Hamonic comes in and drops the gloves. Gets called for the extra 2 and a 10 and now has to sit for 17 mins yet Simmons gets nothing extra for this fight.

And then 2 goals in 7 playoffs games... while playing hurt for the most part...

So not even being generous or accounting for him playing hurt in the playoffs, we could have expected him to score just under .5 goals per game with us given the sample size (8 goals in 17 games) then yah, it is pretty reasonable to expect that he could have at least 22 or 23 goals right now after 45 games played. It's not like he's playing with amazing players in Montreal. Montreal just has way better defense than us and an overall much more solid bottom 6.

Prior to this season, Toffoli has scored 145 goals in 525 career games which puts him at 0.276 goals per game. Times that by 47 games played would put him right at 13 goals if we go by his career average. He currently has 27 goals. So double his career average. Also, if he was so good with the Canucks, why did he last until day 3 of free agency to be signed? None of the other 29 GMs jumped on him in the first 48 hours of free agency opening. Like I said, lets see how he does next year when he has to face the NHL's best goalies like Vasilevskiy, Grubauer, MAF, Varlamov whom all play for US teams

Well LA did play a defensive minded system which is probably why Toffolis # are much better in Van & Montreal. The reason why people cant let it go is cause people instantly hated that Toffoli was let go and Virtanen was re-signed. And it took less than a couple weeks into the season to show them that they were right to feel that way and its been getting worse as the season progressed.

Our Canucks have become probably one of if not the worst run organization in the league. Certainly I feel like we might be worse than Ottawa now and that's saying something.... maybe Arizona is still worse off but I'm not so sure anymore. THere's a darkness around this team I haven't experienced as a fan since the Messier era, and that was even before the Virtanen story broke.

I'm even concerned about our superstars to be honest... like getting a bit worried if Hughes finds some way to bounce on us and doesn't re-sign, you can go back and read his comments all year long and see his body language I feel like it reads as if he doesn't want to be here anymore and I'm not sure I can blame him. It is really on the players to change it if they don't think it is enough.

Personally, I don't think it should be a maximum dollar amount but a maximum percentage of someone's salary.

Anybody could've picked Hughes. He literally fell into the Canucks' lap. And, you clearly underestimate the work of Judd Brackett.

I wouldn't mind if the Sedins came on as some sort of consultant/advisor role to learn the ropes and ease themselves into hockey management. Stevie Y and Sakic did the same things before moving up the chain.

I think we can all agree that the Sedins come across as extremely intelligent and humble individuals, so I can see them doing well.
