some stuff actually has to take its own load, depending on how gross they get.

I think a buddy of mine is an alcoholic. After having a few drinks tonight with him I have come to this conclusion because of many reasons. He has had a DUI, fought it and won, drives buzzed/drunk quite often I have tried to take away his keys a few times but it is usually useless. Tonight we went to the liquor store after a few drinks watching Detroit kick the Pen's ass, and at the house we were all watching tv, me him and couple roomies, I brought home some Vodka and he was getting up lots during the movie didnt think anything of it, then he took off and seemed a lil weird I thought really nothing of it cause he had a long day at work. As I am cleaning up there is like 2oz left of a new 26 and I only had one drink. I feel bad helping his habit.

^^

A few years back I was the same way, but not driving drunk because that is just silly. I'd be spending around $150/week or more on grey goose, drinking alone in my house. I think it was mainly due to the fact that I was going nowhere at the time and the thought of living that way for years to come almost broke me. Started putting my time into a business instead though and it slowly helped. I still do drink 4-5 days out of the week but its a 6 pack or less when I do.

boostedimports 06-06-2008 02:45 PM

thats awesome

bluebomber85 06-06-2008 08:42 PM

.. real alcoholics don't drink grey goose.

girlcrazy_420 06-06-2008 09:39 PM

I need to step up a notch on my drinking habits. 18pack for me = 30days, that includes feeding other mouths from the same case.

You need to go back to drinking 40oz bottles of olde english out of brown paper bags.

zumvette 06-07-2008 12:35 AM

I've discovered that construction zone flagging is a VERY dangerous job.

Coming back from penticton at about 1am last night and there is around a 15-20min delay at one part of the highway where they're doing quite a bit of digging and hauling in and out. It was pretty dead except for the huge trucks going by now and then... Out of nowhere, two construction crew pickup trucks rip out from the digging area and block the road. In the distance I see some car coming quite fast. Guy stops as he gets to the flaggers and I could hear a bunch of yelling going on, and next thing I see is the car just peel out almost running over one of them. I hope they got his plate.

Fix your exhaust then

girlcrazy_420 06-08-2008 10:29 PM

I think my truck has a new meaning to "riding rough" The front suspension does not have springs, but instead it rides on the bumpstops. The rear is a block drop, but the suspension looks like it also relies on the bumpstops. Little to no flex in this setup.

How lenient is this job???
a pizza joint i worked at that paid $0.10 for cleaning, and people bitched. They got them a cleaning raise and took away their free food for awhile. It's a case of the employees were treated well, and people still bitched about $2, and lost out on $75 worth of free food cause they wanted to go to the labour board.

Not safe to bite the hand that feeds.

I have never bitched to the manager about the fact they don't always follow the rules...
It can be an alright place to work, it just depends, some things are good but some are bad.
Last June we had a staff meeting scheduled and I called in to tell the manager I wouldn't be coming in because I'm running to the bathroom every 15-30 minutes and don't think I should be driving anywhere. He tells me I'd better go get a doctors note then... I could understand this if I constantly call in sick, but I've called in sick maybe 5 times in the 2 years I've been there. When I'm sick I still show up to work until they send me home once they see how sick I am.. It turns out I had 2 different strains of salmonella and the only poultry I remember eating in the timeframe the health nurse said was the chicken taco pizza from there with extra chicken... My manager said there was no way I could've gotten it from there, but that's the only chicken I ate...

We're never off at our scheduled end time it all depends on how busy it is. Sometimes we'll get off earlier than our scheduled end time, but quite a few times we're scheduled off later... I made my boss move up my end time so I know I'll be off by 7:30/8 at the latest because when he scheduled my end time for 8 a lot of the times I wouldn't be off until close to 9, then I have to go home and cook dinner before going to bed in order to be up at 7 for my full time job...

we don't get free food, we get it at a discounted price.

we get $0.82 per delivery and they charge customers a $2 delivery charge. But if we go to a house that doesn't answer the door or say they didn't order pizza we don't get the delivery fee, which really sucks if you go to the other side of town...'

anyhow this isn't a post to bitch about how bad/good this place is, it was just a post about how I thought it was funny that I got written proof of two things the company does that's against employment standards.

zumvette 06-12-2008 09:31 AM

ONE MORE DAY woohoooooooooooooooo.
