Iceman-19 08-26-2009 04:30 PM

It only turned out that well because the supervisor of the operation was so awesome.

My mod of the day, well from last week. Bought a 96 Blazer, 5" of lift, 31s, too many kms, needs lots of work. So far Ive done both front calipers, 1 of the oil cooler lines (other one leaks like a seive, and is a pain in the ass to replace), right front wheel bearing, and installed my sub and amp. Still have to do the other oil cooler line, pitman arm and idler arm, shocks, brakes, blah, blah, blah. Lots to break. Need to make a trip to pick a part for some body parts as well. Plans for it, make sure it lasts me the winter, until I can get another car, then turn it into a trail rig. SAS swap, possibly V8 swap, etc. Pics at the bottom.

Fronts are done as well. Not as worried about the people behind me as I am about the paint on my skirts and bumper.

I think they make the car look more aggressive, and they would look even better with the bigger/wider/lower offset wheels on your speed. And no debris onto the mountain bikes ;). There are some good pictures of a red speed with the same flaps here --> http://www.bcmazda3.com/forum/index.php?topic=15070.0

down_hill_dog 08-27-2009 11:01 PM

Yes, i've seen Tim's in person. They fit great :)

Mazda 3's have SHIT paint. Water based crap.. I'm going to be getting from the door moulding down done in 3m clear bra before winter hits

jeffh 09-19-2009 03:19 PM

new front lower control arm bushings, they pounded out in 6 months. fml
new exaust again, i think i gotta get some kinda protection for the muffler as this is the 3rd time ive replaced it

Dirt Rider 09-19-2009 07:03 PM

or just dont run one jeff... toss a chambered oval muffler some where along the body where it can be tucked up tight.. and just run the pipe out the back.. wont sound any worse then most jeeps... and the bulky muffler wont get hung up on shiz

jeffh 09-20-2009 05:36 PM

ive thought about just using some tough round mufflers but i really dont want it to be noisey atall

Dirt Rider 09-20-2009 06:54 PM

walker makes some good quiet mufflers in a round body

zumvette 09-20-2009 08:11 PM

modded a bigger sprocket to the ltr and took it to ashcroft and ran a 9.28 at 69.65mph, woot woot.

fourtirefire 09-20-2009 08:48 PM

Removed the spare tire for weight savings and ran a 16.9@81mph at ashcroft, bone stock. Best 60' was a 2.3, I just couldn't power brake hard enough to stop it from spinning the tires off the line.

Modded another throttle body to a broken state at the 1/8 mile drags this weekend. This time sucked the butterfly screw all the way into cylinder #4 where it proceeded to bounce around and make alot of noise before depositing itself in the usual place in the IACV in my intake. Mashed the strap to the electrode of the plug reducing the chance of any spark in that cylinder to zero.

Replaced the damaged plug, temporarily welded the shaft of the TB until I get a new one. Runs ok for now, but checking compression tonite.

I guess the moral of the story is don't expect the stock SR throttle body to hold up when it slams shut at 35 psi boost pressure, cause it won't.

HAHA the one wheelie was pretty wicked, hung the front wheels probably 2ft in the air for a good 40-50ft didnt get out of the throttle but didnt hammer on it to scrape the rear grab bar and a few times held them in the air 8" for a lil ways would have been way worse if I didnt have the front end limiters on. Maybe oct3,4 ill do a couple runs without the front tied down, should hang pretty good.

If I could find a jacket that fits me well I would be able to lean over the handle bars alot better and be able to 60' harder but being a fat short guy makes it impossible to find one.

I still dont know about this tits up in a ditch thing. I like tits tho so I am interested. Also geno let me know when a good time to come for a tune is. Tonight is bad for me as I am working night shift tonight but later this week I am good.

Jeffh what was your best time at ashcroft? is my quad close yet?

jeffh 09-21-2009 02:18 PM

i think ill have to go back and check my slips, you might have my 1/8 beat!

Slo40 09-21-2009 02:27 PM

does it beat my 7.248 @ 96.81 mph? haha
