^ you sir, are bad for my wallet. altho i think id almost rather a rear bumper w/hitch swing away tire carrier, gas can mount and highlift all in one. keep the weight lower

http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...s/DSC02954.jpg

^ ideal
only think i would change is have it made so i can raise or lower the soare tire with a locking hitch pin. that way on the street you can lower it for rear view, or raise it on the trail for a better escape angle

Modded a 52 inch Samsung A630 lcd tv into my house. Just in time for the all-star game.... things fucking beautiful. Now what is it about big tv's that make your friends gravitate to your living room?

BOOM* we got my front recovery issue solved today, and man we did a good job.

sitting around bored at work BSing about my radical jeep and all the beer drinking that occurs around it. and we start talking about my fucked front end and how to fix it.
one of the tech's brad says, "well why dont we just weld on a tow hook already." pulls out 2 huge beefy tow hooks he had in his bench that apparently are removed at the pre-delivery inspection from older pilots.
so i rip the jeep in, we start eyeballing up where they are gonna go, pull some un-needed junk out, clearance my skid plate and some plastic trim. tac tac (i even did onelittle spot) then he lays a big fat bead around the hooks, i re-assemble everything and paint it all up and boom, $100 in junk saved

the frame is gonna get torn out up to the doors before these guys come loose

RRxtar 02-05-2009 05:23 PM

you welded to the unibody?

jeffh 02-05-2009 05:57 PM

Dirt Rider 02-05-2009 09:15 PM

is that braced from side to side... or jsut on each side?

jeffh 02-05-2009 09:48 PM

its the boxed portion of the "frame" the welds run 7 inches back and make a rectangle with welds on the front and rear as well. you can see where the bumper mounts in the second picture above the weld its the > shaped bracket. aftermarket hooks run metal down the side of the frame about 8 inches and bolt to 4 places
