I would really avoid Mandalay unless its a super good deal. You would be walking 20 minutes to everything or taking a lot of cabs. Sometimes at the end of the day, you just want to get back and crash and not take forever.

Yeah, when we were there for my stag, somehow we always ended up back at NYNY, and it was so much fun. Just a really cool place, with a great atmosphere

Xu.Vi 12-12-2013 04:34 PM

Thanks guys, yea going to get presale tickets and will be looking into TI/New York instead! Wouldn't have been too great walking that distance LOL.

punkwax 12-12-2013 05:26 PM

NYNY is a cool spot for sure. Irish Pub? Yes please.

TI is also good. Perfect size IMO and they have comfy beds.

I still strongly recommend MGM Signature Towers. I got a 900 sqft one bedroom suite with kitchen, 2 baths for same price as a reg room...

fliptuner 12-12-2013 05:51 PM

Don't even think of going to the pho place at TI, otherwise I liked it there. See if you can get a room that faces East, so you can catch the show from your room.

I still haven't been to Mirage, since they reno'd it 3-4 years ago

the cab driver could've taken different route to avoid traffic jam. It gets really bad sometimes. When I rent car in Vegas, depending on the time of the day, I often take long route to avoid traffic and it IS faster to go around in many cases.

it was around 10:45 am when we arrived at airport. and when we left the hotel going home it was around 9:30am ish?

racerman88 12-14-2013 09:47 PM

Have you looked into Vdara?
Located behind Aria.
Vdara Las Vegas

Xu.Vi 12-15-2013 09:22 PM

Checked it out and it seems promising as well. Booked for TI and ticket there; no return yet because i'm still waiting for a better "deal". CANT WAIT! :fullofwin:

My brother and I really enjoyed Lawry's, if you're into Prime Rib. It's off the strip, slightly

jmanhas 12-16-2013 03:55 PM

the 20$ sandwich trick worked at the hard rock hotel! and we got upgraded to the HRH suite towers :)

punkwax 12-16-2013 05:29 PM

$20 sandwich works outside of Vegas too. Hotel staff don't give a shit, enter some lame code like "airline lost luggage" or whatever. I'm 3/3 in Florida :D

If you're SO is cool, twin peaks. If not hit the bellagio buffet for breakfast one morning. They have EVERYTHING.

Have fun man.

I liked the off menu $7 steak special at Ellis Island brewery behind Bally's.
Order it with the mashed and veggies and your choice of a beer or their homemade root beer. ( which was really good )
Go early b/c it gets busy there.

The Fuku burger food truck is out there too.

If you have not seen Cirque De Soliel's "O' then you have to go. We also enjoyed Ka.

My wife and her friends watched Chris Angel's show at the Luxor and was not impressed.

Very few girls will enjoy Twin Peaks. It was a very guy oriented, and not just because of the obvious (skanky waitresses). I found the food very 'meh' for the money.

It was fun watching a few of the waitresses use the climbing wall when we were there. It was pretty dead, so some were keeping busy doing that, while others practiced hula-hooping :notbad:

Had a killer burger at "The Burger Bar". Kind of outta the way, down at the Mandalay (between Mandalay and Luxor if I remember?) Lots of different beers to try, all in all pretty decent.

We were there on a dead day (thursday afternoon). Got to race a bunch of the waitresses up the wall. Good times...

Lol, yeah I had a few of them challenge me as well, but given the condition I was in, I had no business climbing stairs, let alone that climbing wall lol

What do you have listed so far? PRIME Steakhouse in Bellagio was awesome, great selection of martini's.
Then there are the casual but delicious spots like Earl, etc.

I stayed at TI once before, never again. Many better choices in the same price range. The elevator smelled like wet socks and our bathtub faucet was broken. Almost cut my hand on it.

Lowered_Klass 12-17-2013 11:26 PM

Completely forgot to mention...

Go and see Zumanity at NYNY.

It's the 'adult' Cirque show. Yes, there is nudity, but that's not the best part (although a few of the girls... me gusta). It was fucking hilarious!

Definitely check it out if you can.

Hey guys,

My family and my gf will be going in LAS this Xmas. This is our first time. Any recommendation for a must see show, museum or attraction? We will be there for 4 nights and will be staying in monte carlo.

Where could we get good tickets for "The O"?

Where is a good place to celebrate a silver wending anniversary?

Is their any free slot token given away?

Don't really have "O" discounts during Christmas time. I think the only Cirque that's discounted is Zarkana. Since it's next door to your hotel, you might want to check that out. You can find show discounts at Cheap Las Vegas Specials, Las Vegas Hotel Deals, Free Vegas Coupons.

For somewhere nice to celebrate, maybe grab something with a view. MIX at Mandalay is great.

Mhm I had a room swap because my room had a "wet" smell to it from earlier carpet washing :(. Though aside from the constant smell of deodorizer they use throughout the hotel...it was alright!

I'll be going for the first time as well and I'm intrigued with this "$20 sandwich" thing...

Can someone enlighten me? Tried going a few pages back and to no avail.

Cheers

I've done it successfully at the Caesars properties. Just tuck a $20 in between my credit card and ID when they ask for it. I ask if there's any complimentary upgrades.

They'll put it to the side and search through what is available. I usually end up getting the best version of the room I booked. For example... top floor with larger room or better bathroom or better view. Never anything crazy though.
