Went to Harrah's for their champagne brunch, maybe thats why I didn't mind the food or selection there because of the unlimited champagne I consumed. |
Aria's buffet gave me the idea that buffets weren't anything special, so I didn't go to Caesar's buffet. My friends couldn't stop talking about it. I'm going to check it out, next time! |
I went to Caesars buffet prior to their renovation like 2 years ago? And it was horrible. that same year they renovated to what it is now and I finally got to try it this past August. Very good selection of food and good service. I think I did a walk around video taping the food selection. If I can dig it up I'll post to show you guys. |
We went to Aria's buffet twice. One for each time I've been down. Once was a later lunch, the other was a late breakfast (but was cool, because they were bringing out lunch items which we got to eat lol). Compared to some of the other buffets, I found it above average. I'll gladly sacrifice more choices, in favour of better quality. Which I think is the case with Aria's buffet. With all the cool places to eat down there, we tried to stay away from the buffets. So many places I still want to eat at down there! |
A place that we tried out the last time we were there in August was Lotus of Siam which was a thai place that was also featured by Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown in Las Vegas. It's north of the strip a bit so you'll need to use a car to get there or I guess transit or cab. It's not the nicest area but just use common sense and things should be fine (when you walk into the restaurant, a sign warns you to keep all your valuables out of sight in your car due to lots of breakins) Place is always busy so I'd recommend you make a reservation, when we got there, the waiting room was packed and the place (which was larger than it appeared from the outside) was packed If you haven't seen the episode I was speaking about before, you should watch it, TL-DR version pretty much is, this is one of the best thai places in the states and order from the northern section of the menu as this is their speciality, order something like pad thai and Anthony Bourdain will personally punch you in the face :P I'm probably heading down there again in December so any tips on food places off the beaten path would be great :) |
The current panhandling thread reminds me that in Vegas, there's good opportunities to not let your leftovers go to waste. Pack it up, and give it to to the homeless. There might be the occasional one that'll refuse it, but most are grateful for the food. Don't forget water, too :) |
Is anyone going to SEMA in November?? I'm trying to convince my boss to give me his invitations... so far unsuccessful. I'm going Dec. 28 -Jan 2 for New Years :) anyone else? |
Just booking for halloween now.... holy shit .... 2 people staying at Wynn with flight is $2k |
booked 2 tickets flying out of bellingham and stay at Monte carlo for 4 days 3 nights. With tax and luggage fee and all bs come out to be $541. 2 shows tickets are included. Im debating if i should check out KA or LOVE ? Both appealing but im leaning towards KA |
Im in Vegas now.....so sick! Stayed at the Aria and like others said the buffet is crap. Im going to caesars palace for dinner so hopefully thats good. |
KA was pretty good. Aria buffet was mediocre and will not go back. I bought the 24 hour buffet pass before the Caesar's Palace renovation and even the concierge at the Caesar's told me to stay away from their buffet lol. I did go after the reno's and it was by far the best buffet I've ever been to. Definitely a must-try. Also Wicked Spoon in Cosmo has a great LUNCH buffet (good deal too). I think it was $22 and you get a complementary glass of Mimosa too so technically it's like a $15 meal. I liked how everything was served in small dishes that you pick up and place on your tray instead of slopping everything onto 1 big plate. Rio's World buffet is the BIGGEST buffet I have ever been to, rows upon rows of food! They have like 20 different cuisines, you can get a bowl of pho with your prime rib, then pizza and pad thai lol ... quality is not great but decent. Harrah's REGULAR buffet is garbage but apparently they have a "Super Buffet" every Sunday morning, you get caviar, lobster, unlimited alcohol, basically the works. But it's like $100 per person? |

Wife in Vegas now for a bachlorette party. Any way to get VIP access without breaking the bank to Hakassan? They are (logically) a group of girls |

Call a promoter. They will grant you VIP access no fees if you got the right hook up. Being all girls makes it that much easier. Msg me with more detail as I have a friend in Vegas. How bigs the group? Where and when. Etc. |
Just booked my flights with Flight Center($50 off per ticket) and came out to $1605.55 for 5 round trip tickets on WestJet from Vancouver to Las Vegas. About $321 per person I think it's an alright deal. Combined with the RoyalOffer2014 in the Summer, $990 for 2 rooms and 4 nights at Bellagio/MGM with $700 in dining credits. |
^That's cheap! When? Just booked mine for remembrance day weekend. with hotels and all, it came to $1700 for 2 ppl. I'm going to caesar's palace buffet for sure this time! |

25% Westjet discount from a recent promotion for 4 round trip tickets totaling $1336. Approximately $334 per person. Like you, I also went ahead and booked two rooms with RoyalOffer2014 at MGM Sig back in late-August. Unlike Aria and Bellagio, it offers only $150 dining credit per room but that should be enough to cover most of the dining buffets for three nights. Around $500/person. BTW, this is the first time I am using the royal offer and I don't have membership. Do you know if they are strict about this? I read they don't even check sometimes |

The RoyalOffer2014 is one of the better deals of the year for hotels in Vegas. I've been lurking the RFD Vegas thread and about 5 people have used the RoyalOffer2014 so far and none of them got checked. The front-desk doesn't even ask about it. So I'm not too worried. If you're really paranoid, someone on RFD suggested to make up a membership ID number. IIRC it's a 9 digit number starting with 1  I doubt they'll go through the hassle of confirming your membership ID. |
What's a good event/dinner/spot to go for a birthday? Basically me and GF booked our trip from Friday-tuesday in April, we're inviting a bunch of people who may come different days, different durations, etc but odds are everyone will be there on Saturday So we're looking for somthing where we can all get together during the day, or night, or both. A good friend of hers coming has a bunch of connections with promoters and stuff but I'd like some suggestions to put forth |

Estiatorio Milos inside the Cosmo is pretty damn good as well. |
yea a couple of my friends go to Joel Robuchon everytime they are there and highly recomend it, but considering i'm gonna be dropping like $1500-2000 on driving cars and shooting guns dunno if i can justify a 500+ meal, and dunno if others in the party would be all that into it |
