Salar, I really like the ton and depth of the first image. How did you convert it to black and white?

But I think it would have been better if you would have inluded the top of his head. At this point I find myself focusing on his sweater

Thanks Krieg; I used a yellow filter in photoshop and some basic levels/curves adjustments. The original was shot in RAW, so I also meddled with the highlights/lowlights in Rawshooters Essentials before importing into PS.

I intentionally cropped tight on the first one to emphasize his struggle while trying to get up. To force you to pay attention to his tight grip. Plus, a limited crop personifies his perspective (since he's looking down, with eyes half closed -- not conscious of his environment), thus providing more empathy to the viewer.

holly crap that is one masive bee!!! that ant's got nothing on him!

cool 'shoe' tree Senna - i guess that's the place where the shoe tossers originated from - you get shoes tossed all over van's power line.

Amuse 05-20-2007 01:58 PM

^ Yeah it was a massive bee. The size of the ant was about the size of the bee's foot!

Great shots Senna. I like the photo of the cow.

Had a couple of good sports for an engagement shoot. We were in the rain and it was windy and cold. But they toughed it out. Here's one from the day.

MikesJo 05-20-2007 07:43 PM

Awesome shot Justin! No there was no flash behind them :).

Nice macro shots! Which lens is that?

niforpix 05-20-2007 10:10 PM

Thank you sir! Photos 1 & 3 is a Canon 100mm macro lens, and photos 2 & 4 is my Canon 18-55 wide angle lens. I wish my macro lens had built in IS tho. It was very hard to take shot of that ant and especially the rain drop on the branch. There was a slight breeze so I had to wait till the branch was totally still

pharoaz 05-20-2007 10:17 PM

some more from me =)

Haha, thanks! It's not eating anything. It's just the way it is. I think those are called "feelers". :D
