I’ve been wearing the sub with nato for 4 days now and this totally was the right decision vs the metal bracelet. When I’m typing notes it doesn’t cut into my wrist (or damage the keyboard), it’s comfortable all day without feeling weighty and it’s more adjustable. https://i.postimg.cc/PJDXq7q3/D8139-...-B82-F2-DA.jpg Love love love the nato strap. |
Love the sub! Not my fave Rolex though, that would be the Explorer II. The white dial with stainless bezel and orange GMT hand is just Kreygasm And yes, I have looked at what it would cost to mod a Seiko to look like that Kappa |
I've reviewed precisely 2 pages of this 180 page thread and feel qualified now to ask why everyone makes a fist when they take their watch photo? Is it for extra emphasis? Or so we can't see your poor cuticle management? |

DC5 got it right LUL I took several pics and it looks really weird to have your hand just hanging out. Plus it takes up less space in the picture |

i always make a fist because it looks more manly (psssttt trying to hide the sausage fingers) but in reality it looks like somebody strapped a watch to a ham.... ham fist. https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images...1q_400x400.jpg |
I was going through some boxes at home and came across some old G1 Targetmaster Transformers that I had… and I instantly thought to myself hey I feel like I have matching G-Shocks for these! Turns out I do for 2 of them anyway… maybe gotta find a third to match the red guy lol. Anyway, kind of a silly post but maybe some of you will get a kick out of it: https://i.imgur.com/7ILBVBx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/z6tnYqz.jpg |

Smart watch news: Launches April 3rd in Europe. Direct competitor is the Apple Watch Ultra ($1,100 CAD). I kind of want the silver/blue one. Huawei Watch Ultimate European pricing starts at €800 ($1,190 CAD) for the Expedition Black (with а rubber strap), while the Voyage Blue (with an elegant metallic strap) is priced at €940 ($1,400 CAD). Open sales will begin in Europe on April 3, 2023. https://i.imgur.com/zcWq5fB.png https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile...mpetitor-news/ |

Rolex introduces a 40mm Explorer Kreygasm https://monochrome-watches.com/wp-co...0-224270-3.jpg I couldn't belive how small the 36mm looks, so this should be much better Tons of new watches announced today |
Even at 40mm it’s not that large. Damn you Rolex and your conservatism !! That’s why omega is still the better brand in my opinion. They are made better, their history is longer and more interesting, and they rely more on engineering instead of marketing. Rolex nowadays is a marketing company that makes watches. Kinda like red bull… an marketing company that makes drinks. |
Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Rolex with the fake scarcity and phony exclusivity, but they do make a couple models that I really like.. Both Explorers. I am fine knowing that I will never, ever be able to own one though lol |
Where do you guys go for things like new announcements of watches and stuff? Or can we recreate that in here? |
Belive it or not I subscribe to a newsletter lol.. I just glance through it, today was a big news day though because of a watch expo going ion right now. You can check out their latest release here and sign up there if you like. |
they made a 39 a while back and even all the rolex purists hated it. im surprised they decided to make a 40 |
IMO 3-handers, especially Rolex, never look good in these big 40mm+ sizes. You end up with too much empty space... the OP and DateJust 41mm versions always looked bad to me compared to the 36mm "original". |

It's a very specific niche of hated watch that becomes valuable I've noticed. You need a weird/undesirable color on an otherwise desirable watch such as a yellow/pink/blue OP. A watch that just genuinely has little interest such as the Milgauss just fades into relative obscurity and the prices changed maybe $1500 since being discontinued, and I haven't seen any actually sell at the "new" pricing, just asking prices. There are definitely many ways to own expensive watches for the long term and not have them cost you a bunch of money, but to buy them thinking they will actually appreciate beyond what a stock portfolio would do is basically impossible - the watches that might do that, you and I will not get our hands on at close to MSRP. TL;DR is buying any Rolex that you love and want to own will likely cost you very little - a 20 year old Daytona similar to mine sells for about what I paid for mine. But that's not an investment, that's just a less expensive toy than something that isn't worth anything later on. -Mark |
Kind of really digging this early 00's Speedmaster with split seconds hands :considered: https://pics.zeitauktion.com/2022/22...me1_medium.jpg They go for under $3000 |
$10 Braun arrived! This one feels much cheaper, including the packaging. Other one felt like a premium product. It's hard to set too, because the dial is recessed. Oh well However the design is still just PERFECT. The hour hand meets the raised index perfectly, and the minute hand touches the minute indices at the precisely correct length https://i.imgur.com/K7WU0GU.jpg |
