My grails would be the IWC Eternal Calendar

And Rolex Panerai 6152 (1950's)

And steel Daytona 126500

(also like the 116660 Sea Dweller)

Most do exactly that. You can't directly finance a watch, you need leverage from another place - homeowner's line, unsecured personal line of credit, etc.

These are all great choices. If I saw you had a JLC reverso, I’d be like … a man of fine taste I see. The watchmakers watchmaker. They supply a lot of movements to high end brands.

I’m more of an omega guy myself so any speedy I think is the perfect start to collection.

gs is good but niche and nobody knows what it is other than if you know you know guys.

HELOC, LOC, and some used websites let you finance with like sezzle pay, afterpay, affirm, etc

I've heard ppl swipe a $10K Explorer and pay it back at 24% in a year just because allocation came before their milestone

Badhobz 11-22-2024 09:11 PM

jesus if i had to buy a watch on credit id buy a Timex or something. Makes no sense to go into debt buying something like this unless you have an "in" like a steel daytona comes up and you get it at MSRP but you're flat broke (which makes no sense cuz how did you get the allocation then?)

ugh that's trying a bit too hard to keep up with the jones. Just wear what you can afford. to be honest if you cant afford to lose it, don't buy it/wear it.

I love Seiko as a brand, but I would only buy a Grand Seiko if I was visiting the Studio Shizukuishi factory and buy one at the factory itself so there's a story attached to it.

Buying one here just feels like buying an overpriced Seiko with nicer finishing... it feels like you're always punching up trying to tell people about it, they just hear "Seiko" and forget the Grand part unless ike Hobz said they're a real "iykyk" person.

Why u hurtz me? At least I made money off my indecisiveness 3 times now hahaha!

My financial advisor is proud of me. I mean... he didn't actually say he was, but I can hear it in his voice.

I wouldn't explain to people that it's a Grand Seiko, IF they recognize the snowflake, then you can have the convo. Otherwise just say it's a Seiko.

Similar to telling people what you drive, I default to old Honda and a Hyundai Econbox. If they follow-up I tell them it's the grotesque veloster from 2010

Absolutely no point in explaining further except for maybe ego

This is a cool IG account with a lot of just basic videos of some very cool watches in action.

Note I watch it on mute, so don't blame me if it's some annoying dork talking over it LUL

This Seiko Credor with porcelain dial is so nice

you guys ever watch this fat fuck? he's mildly entertaining.

bcrdukes 12-09-2024 07:09 AM

Interesting how "Class" section is made up of AP, Cartier, Swatch, Casio, and Rolex.

I love how there's a Hublot category lol

Badhobz 12-09-2024 02:03 PM

Timex is in the "would buy" category hahhah, he actually down classed it from "class"

Was pretty entertaining up until near the end when for some reason he went all crazy and said something about Grand Seiko fans being a bunch of woke terrorists???

Okay Trump lover. Dumped him into the Hublot category too lol

Badhobz 12-11-2024 10:45 AM

just the fact he has a Hublot category made me laugh.

Im seriously considering buying a GS next year when I go to japan. Ill buy it and wear it proudly when I enter soapland, OHHH SUGOI! KIMOCHI!!!!

68style 12-11-2024 06:22 PM

I really wanted to go to the Grand Seiko factory when I was there last year and buy something at the factory store so it had a story attached to it, but the website said all visits were only for schoolchildren for like a month+

Badhobz 12-12-2024 07:30 PM

psssh japanese people can never say no to anyone, if you ask hard enough I'm sure they'll let you in. They really have a problem with saying no! try it!!!

I think some restaurants in Japan denied him because he was white. :lol

You are right that they don't say no. They just do it in very weird ways. :D

68style 12-13-2024 07:19 AM

Longest roundabout no you'll ever hear in your life.

I mean I understand the rationale though... just that the Grand Seiko factory is in the middle of fucking nowhere so it's not like you're just in Tokyo and show up at the door and hope for the best/take your chances and do an oh well if you don't get in. It's a major investment of time and $ to travel to.

Badhobz 12-13-2024 08:21 PM

Not so bad if you combine soapland plus Seiko land. I mean it is rated for 100-300m. I’m sure bubbly soapy land won’t ruin it just don’t get it lost up some….. uhhh

68style 12-15-2024 09:27 AM

I was stunned by a watch enthusiast's pronunciation of the JLC brand the other day... I felt so common after I've been saying it like JAG-HER LUH COY-TUR this whole time.

Should know my place and never own one like Hobz.

As a Canadian you should know the approximate French pronunciation at least! LUL

68style 12-15-2024 01:49 PM

I only remember the scintillatingly hot French teachers t&a

SkinnyPupp 12-15-2024 02:52 PM

I feel like I learned a million French names from watching hockey
