Does anybody have any advice on selling watches? Looking to sell a Panerai that has been lightly worn mostly a safe queen. Looking to purchase an engagement ring, in Asia there are alot of stores that would take in second-hand jewelry/ watches and put towards a purchase of other jewelry/watches. Does such place exist here in Vancouver? Or is it better just selling it myself on CL? |
ebay or chrono24 for most money man. CL and pawn shops youre just gonna get some shady ass dudes. |

But I googled it out of curiosity, and there was a site called "stayfresh.ca" selling it for $175. The site looked a bit sketch, but it turns out they have a store in Metrotown. I called, they had it in stock, so went in and picked it up. Final sale though. They also sell them online for same price, so you can get it from there. It's legit. |
I saw on instagram Casio just recently released a full steel CasiOak. Looking forward to pricing and availability. |
That’s sick !!! I love it. It’s totally retro but not retro at the same time |
Recently jumped back on to the market looking at Omega. Shopped across the country at various ADs only to be met with a 15% discount at best and despite previous purchase history. Cash or credit - no difference. Tough market. |

--- Throwing out a feeler here, hopefully this isn't considered distasteful/rude. My collection has once again reached a point where I need to unload. I have a fairly expensive watch coming at the end of the year too. Looking to sell my Ming 17.09 (Blue) for what I paid (msrp). Not sure if anyone here is interested? I was in the first batch of the 10 minute window, so the watch is a few months old. Worn a few times, basically like new condition. Also looking to sell a Zelos Mako v3 Titanium, Blue Mother of Pearl dial. |

As long as it doesn't clutter up the thread, short FS posts in here are okay since the buy/sell section is pretty much dead. |

I don't post on craigslist, ebay, or watch forums, etc. I have bought a JLC reverso through Watchuseek though. The seller was local, so I was able to meet up with him in person. |
How do you like your Reverso and experience witch JLC? The Master Thing Ultra is on my candidate list. I am looking for a dress watch. The sales experience with the in-house JLC rep was fantastic. Omega and Rolex dealers weren't so great. |

I bought it preowned, so I haven't had experience with the JLC boutique in Vancouver. Although I would love to visit if I wasn't so lazy xD Experience with JLC, as minor as it is, was positive though. I emailed them years ago for a catalogue. They mailed one to me (free of course), and it is a super high quality hard cover book! Probably costs a lot to produce (I'm in graphic design / printing professionally). As for the actual watch, I really love it. Reversos aren't for everyone obviously. The model I have is the "Tribute Small Seconds" (Burgundy color). Starting from the "tribute" models, their lugs are now downturned to hug the wrist. I have a 6 inch wrist and it fits perfectly (not too small, not too large). I would assume their older models with the straight lugs would sit awkwardly on smaller wrists, plank-like. The first owner (whom I contacted through Watchuseek) bought this new from the JLC boutique in Van, sold it to his friend after only a month or two. Then his friend decided to sell it after a month or two of ownership as well. Basically, I am the third owner and the watch was only a few months old, with up to 8 years warranty (once registered on JLC's site). I have owned this for almost 2 years now. Met up with both of them at Cactus Club (they wanted to have lunch). I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible (first time buying such an expensive watch in public like this). The guy I bought it from bought me a coffee while I was trying on the watch. Deal went smooth, both guys were super friendly. Master Ultra Thin is cool! I'm personally afraid of watches that thin haha, but from a technical stand point, it is super impressive :] |
No, I was asking badhobz. :inoutugh: (Just kidding) Thanks for that. Reverso isn't for me but it sounds like JLC's value proposition is quite good. I learned that their service intervals are stretched a lot further in regards to time/years and the service cost is $750 for a Master Ultra Thin or something similar. Curious why you are afraid of a thin watch? I have a Nomos Metro Datum which is pretty thin and it's served me quite well. Edit: Are you a girl? |
I'm a short asian dude with tiny wrists :( I would say if you're ok with buying pre-owned, JLC does indeed offer good value for money. (Or if you can get a decent discount at the AD). Not sure about service intervals, as everyone seems to have very different opinions on proper service times. Unless you base it on warranty length? I personally don't plan to service most of my watches until they hit the 10 year mark (assuming they continue functioning normally), regardless of their warranty period. The thinnest watch I have is around 8 or 8.5mm thick. It already looks "perfect" in my opinion, and feel that a watch thinner than that would feel too weird visually and from a durable standpoint. Although I know that probably isn't true. |
You might be better off with a 44mm as they are more durable :troll: P.S. - Since you have a Reverso, you might enjoy this: https://nypost.com/2022/08/01/hitler...r-1-1-million/ :inoutugh: |
Haha saw a photo of the watch before. Didn't know it sold for so much. Only recently found out through a movie that there are people who collect objects associated with that... Time to get my Reverso custom engraved with the same image >:D jk |
THANKS FOR ASKING DUKES!!! I love JLC's too. :alonehappy: the watchmakers, watchmaker. only problem with JLC... trying to get a asian guy to pronounce it correctly. JAY-GER-LE-COOL-TRA.. they pronounce it all weird like YAGER... |
