how much is this awesome thing?!

Seems like on Chrono24 from Japan (it has both Japanese and English days) they're usually about $1200+

I got this one for $725 just been completely disassembled and cleaned/serviced. I guess the market is much smaller in Calgary haha!

That and the colour drew me to it... a lot of the ones for sale have a regular flat crystal because the faceted one is so hard to find.

Badhobz 10-21-2024 08:43 PM

725?!?!?! Fucking bargain of the century right there. Enjoy it my bro! You just stole it.

SkinnyPupp 10-21-2024 08:46 PM

If you like old Seikos, this is a good IG follow

So dukes showed me this octopus watch (for the Hong Kong transit system and convenience shops) last year and I was hooked ! I had to have one. I couldn’t find any where that sold it until I got to this weird mtr station in sai Ying pun where they had one left.

It’s amazing !! I love it. What a great souvenir.
Instantly loaded it with 1000 bucks. Now I can buy water. Ride the rails and buy cake all with a tap of my wrist.

bcrdukes 11-02-2024 05:24 AM

Holy shit you got it! We were just looking at this and joked that you should get one. Congrats man! :D

I love the brand - Shetto. Not quite so ghetto. :lol

Badhobz 11-02-2024 06:42 AM

Shit toe. Awesome brand.

My wife was like wtf is this ?! Shitto ?

68style 11-03-2024 10:56 AM

what a shetto Rolex hahaha

Surprised it's not red and gold colours

Gerbs 11-03-2024 11:39 AM

Damn the vintage Seiko and Orient is amazing. Gonna look for a Kanji Seiko on my ski trip in Japan in Feb.

If only I can sell my Black Bay, I'd upgrade to the Cherry GS :QQ:

Just bought a bunch of parts for a Seiko "homage" build, will post how it turns out in a few weeks.

In the meantime, my bro picked up one of these for me as a surprise while he was in Tokyo.

I’m in Macau. I saw this new cubits and had to try it out. They didn’t have the steel but they did have the rose gold / white gold combo one. I thought a 45 case might be a bit too big but it looks perfect on my wrist. Ruh oh… I might have to go buy one

The new clasp is much better than my 5711. It has micro adjustment just like a Rolex sports watch

SkinnyPupp 11-06-2024 03:38 AM

Square actually looks really good. Two tone is disgusting though

bcrdukes 11-06-2024 04:26 AM

He probably bought out the entire store. :fuckthatshit:

68style 11-06-2024 05:22 AM

I’ve always disliked 2 tone metals on watches… bands or chassis… but I know in the Omega+++ world of watches I’m obviously in the minority.

Badhobz 11-06-2024 05:46 AM

I don’t mind it so much on a gold sub. Those two tones look better but you guys are right it’s pretty bad on this cubitus

68style 11-09-2024 06:26 AM

Look at me the hypocrite... saying I hate 2 tone watches a few days ago and then suddenly I came across a watch from a coupe year ago that I really love the design of and it's a 2 tone chassis hahaha!! If I do something about it I will certainly post here.

underscore 11-09-2024 07:00 AM

I feel like two tone is one of those things that either works or doesn't on a watch-by-watch basis. Either it works and looks really good or it doesn't and looks really bad.

Or maybe I'm just being dumb cause I've wanted one of these for about 15 years now lol.

Have you looked at the watch in real life?

Like I kinda dig this watch you posted in the pic, the metals are brushed looking even the gold looks oyster finish like most Rolex chassis... but I think in real life it's probably super shiny gold and kinda blingy?

I'm finding a lot recently that the IG photos of watches vs holding it in your hand is quite disappointing for both finish and colour gradients/lume. I guess I should know better, why would it be any diff than girls on IG vs real life for watches hahaha!

I think it takes a certain type of person / energy to pull this Rolex off but it can be done. I still wonder if it would look better without the skunk line of gold on the bracelet though... like keep the gold finishing on the front it's subtle but an all silver bracelet. I would wear that for sure, but I don't think personally I can pull off the gold middle bracelet. That's a Hobz watch. Maybe an underscore one too... I haven't met you irl yet hahaha

Excited to see your build!

I've low key hated all the moon swatches since they came out but that new one with the earth day complication that's coming out is kinda tempting.

sonick 11-09-2024 08:41 AM

Are these special ones also still made of plastic?

Kind of a shame to have such a cool complication in a shitty case with a shitty band.

I've never seen any Rolex in real life let alone that one but I think you're probably right. I highly doubt I could ever pull it off. I don't have to worry about that part since I'll never be able to afford one anyways. I just saw it on the back of a magazine back when I was younger and full of stupid dreams and loved the look of it lol.

They are bio-ceramic... which is a 1/3rd plastic and 2/3 ceramic hybrid

If I win the lottery I'll get you one!

Badhobz 11-09-2024 11:09 PM

What do you mean can pull off… it’s just a friggin watch. Just wear it and enjoy it. I rock a Patek with Costco sweats. I don’t give a shit

I don’t get the earth phase. Moon phase okay but wtf is the earth phase for.
Plus it’s ultra light. like playskoool plastics light. Has no significance (as in heft) on wrist but some people like that kind of easy breezy beautiful cover …. Watch. It’s ultra light and easy to wear

SkinnyPupp 11-09-2024 11:13 PM

I like the moon phase but the only choices for Swatch Omega are useless minute indices, or no minutes index at all, so it's earth phase instead. Then what is the point of being a chronograph?

Earth phase is basically moon phase in reverse lol
