Note that this is the eternal calendar movement, not a regular perpetual. Leap years actually don't happen every 4 years; they are skipped when it's a year divisible by 100 (but not 400). Most of these watches can't take that into account, so they need to be reset if they come across that year - this one does not. So in the year 2100, Patek owners will be FUCKED while this one is good until the year 2400. Not bad right? Kappa |
2100 i'm teaching grade 5 chinese school and kids can't read regular clocks on the wall cause they all can only read digital iphone / tablets / iwatch..... |

tbh I'm somewhat surprised analog clocks are still being used |
I been looking at Sinn watches again lately... thanks SP... but realized when I went looking for pricing that you can't see any prices on their website... I swore I saw them before, but must have been when I was on my phone or something. I googled it and it turns out Sinn and a bunch of German brands turn off pricing if they pick up the fact you're from North America and you have to buy their watches through watchbuys website. Apparently they're phenomenal to deal with customer service wise, but that seems kinda shit to me... also when you go to their site, you can't select different straps for the watches like you can on the Sinn website. I wonder how a single website takes over an entire continent like that. Their pricing is pretty inflated over the Euro costs too if you actually get a hold of them with a VPN on the Sinn website. |
Yeah Watchbuys is their sole distributor in America (and I guess Canada), it really sucks that they change the website when you view from there You can look at Hong Kong pricing here, at their sole distributor here.. You can immediately knock 20% off the price, because as soon as you walk in they offer it. Speaking of Sinn, they just brought back the 903, which was the original Navitimer bought from Breitling in the 70's during the quartz crisis. They bought the design and some cases, but not the names. So now there's two Navitimers https://i.redd.it/wx26kx9vyd0d1.jpg |

To get all schools to have a clock wired with POE will cost millions. if it was digital clocks, gov't would want it to auto sync as well so no more manual adjustments for time changes... janitor + IT + electrician = all union workers... |

I guess kids have phones instead.. I learned how to read clocks pretty quickly, because I'd watch it constantly to see how soon class was ending. Don't do this btw, it makes time go by slower |
Only 5 more minutes until it's only 15 minutes to the last 30 minutes of the first class of the day! |

This is exactly why these children are trash. If you can’t even read a clock I’m gonna destroy you psychologically |

i wonder how long that lume will last. Probably like 10-15 mins ? |
They are claiming 24 hours of glow... but I would imagine the latter half of that is barely perceivable lol Lewis was wearing this one in Monaco I believe. I'm not sure how I feel about this trend... I don't know that I want something glowing on my wrist all night like I'm at a rave if it's not a G-Shock price range watch and when it's not glowing it just looks like plastic. |
WHY U NO LIKE RAVE!?!?!?!? https://i.pinimg.com/736x/1d/33/ca/1...520ccbcfc7.jpg how much is dis!? me wanty |
On the one hand it seems like a gimmick but on the other oooooh pretty lights. |
who knew RGB is now a thing for watches LOL |
As most of you regulars know, I had purchased a Ming and then sold it after not being particularly impressed. I had been following another project for a long time and, despite being in Seattle on hotel wifi and having to wake up at like 5am to participate in an early release to early e-mail subscribers to the project, I managed to scoop one somehow despite them selling out in, apparently, 15 seconds. How that happened, I have no idea. Thank you shop-pay for having all my info pre-filled I suppose? Fast forward to yesterday, after dealing with DHL being a bunch of pricks, I managed to pick up the watch and take some photos today. The watch in question: Kollokium Projekt 1B (1A was for friends and family only with orange lume... which I actually prefer, I would have liked to have one of those) but what an interesting watch. Hope you enjoy the photos. Just an iPhone and I'm no professional, but it's a pretty cool piece. Total of 199 pieces sold. Very industrial looking, cast body, sapphire crystal with no bezel that's a very bold shape I'm not even sure how they managed to make it that way. There are 468 cylindrical pylons on the watch face all individually applied by hand at 6 different heights. So far I am really enjoying it. https://i.imgur.com/P4wZ1R8.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/fhkjkzO.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/A3ufRK9.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/naOW2oJ.jpeg |
That's crazy looking |
Incredible! More of an art piece than traditional time piece |
New Panerai has electric lume that is mechanically charged providing 30 minutes of light. I guess it's like Indiglo except not battery powered https://www.panerai.com/hk/en/focus/elux.html https://www.panerai.com/content/dam/...der_reveal.png Microgenerator https://www.panerai.com/content/dam/...n_1600x900.png 6 barrels - 2 for the watch, 4 for the generator https://www.panerai.com/content/dam/...r_1600x900.png |
