I don't but I'm just running an Asus, I found it too dark.

Do you see a noticeable difference? I play a lot of blu-rays on my PS3 and a couple of people have recommended not having it on for movies so I'm trying to consider if it's worth turning on (my Sony TV turns on game mode by connection so it's either on or off for HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc. and I don't think there's any easy way of turning it off and on without going deep into the TV menu)

i have my hdmi connections to my ps3 and 360 on game mode. for cable i turned it off.
i don't find that there's THAT much of a difference, i don't quite know how to explain it haha. it does go a little darker but it seems crisper to me if that makes any sense...
but then again there are also other settings that could play a part in how dark/bright the picture is on your TV.

Regardless it scared me when I restarted, picked my account then the screen went black, and stayed black, and I had to power down and restart by holding down the power button. But now it runs fine *whew*

Yeah I updated mine last night too. I'm glad those ugly borders on your friends list are now customizable. I could care less about the photos or facebook update.

i'll do a system update to the latest version (no more system updates. your system is up to date)

but then i'll put in little big planet or resident evil and then it'll tell me to update my system to like v. 2.xx before it'll let me play

so i'm a bit confused by that. is that normal? is my ps3 fucked? is it an update for the game (if that even makes sense) or is it honestly constantly downgrading and upgrading my ps3

^ there are specific updates for games, not just the ps3 system update. if the game has a new version then it'll prompt you and let you download and install it. you can ignore it and just play the game, but obviously you won't have whatever they've patched up or added to the game.

^ haha thank you that's what i kinda thought but i never really paid attention to it. i just thought that you "had" to update. so when i have a buddy over and we want to play, to have the system update come up that takes like 5 - 10 minutes to update (slow wifi at my house) it's a bit annoying.
especially if there's a system update + a game update which takes even longer.

but on my wmp 11 I only have the share with other users of pc option, is there some setting I need to change?

*whew* just beat Uncharted, gotta say I liked the first half of the game better than the second half, wayyy too many bad guy bosses to sort between.

My controllers all fucked up now too, when I hit the button to turn it on it doesn't connect to my PS3, it just sits there blinking all 4 lights. even after I turn the PS3 on manually I have to plug the controller in for it to connect, and it disconnects when I unplug it, it I hold the PS button to turn it off it flips off before I finish hitting the turn off button and the screen tells me to connect the controller.

This is all on my 2 month old Slim and Dualshock 3 :(
