you didn't go for the slim?

i went for the bundle and failed to see that the bundle doesnt come with the slim.

not a big deal. $299 for 160G + 3 games (uncharted, infamous, killzone2). the regular one is $299 for 120G and no games.

That is a big deal, those are 3 of the best PS3 games! There's no reason to choose a slim over the old model, and in fact I think the Slim looks incredibly ugly

anyone have customized ps3 themes from the web? There are a lot of nice themes out there.. but with ugly icons. Is there a way i can just use a wallpaper (misa campo e.g.) and just keep the old icons ? =S

I just got a PS3 Slim 120gb for Xmas and it is having some issues with HDMI connection. The TV would just say "No video", but sometimes when I wiggle the HDMI cord around it would work sometimes. Ive already spent a few hours troubleshooting and doing the system reset, but it still happens! Anyone has similar issues?

PS: Ive updated to the latest firmware.

definitely sounds like a cable problem, go get yourself a new cable. let me know if you want hookup for monster cables, they aint worth the retail price but i might be able to find you some for reasonable price

so you want to change just the wallpaper and keep the original icons? if so just resize the misa campo picture to 1920 x 1080 and slap it on to a flash drive and transfer it to the ps3. But if you dont have one, upload it on the net and use the browser on the ps3 to find and save it.

so its kinda a toss in the air.

you want a good quality hdmi cable if its gonna be pretty long. but then, the signal is digital, so thus u should either get a picture or no picture at all.

anyways, i picked up my hdmi cables from ncix during boxing day, they had a sale on them.

I got the same cable from NCIX, ngear 6 feet for like $4.

my wifi connection gets dropped quite frequently..annoying as shit when you're playing online games
how do you guys remedy the situation? Router is DI-624 and its in the basement crawlspace and console is first flr...never been a problem until lately.

on another note, Uncharted 2 online is pretty fun, only stupid thing is that it takes like 10 AK shots to kill an enemy and you can get melee'd split-second after an enemy has been killed by your gunfire.

You can try switching the frequency on your router, it probably won't make much difference though. Best bet would be to, if you have the option, drill a hole in the floor near the wall and run a cable down to go wired.

I've only played deathmatch once for uncharted 2, I've always played co-op and survival.

should i play uncharted 1 before trying 2? Or just jump into 2?

you can just jump into 2..but the first one was pretty epic too.

There's only a few references to the original but nothing that will prevent you from understanding Among Thieves' story line.
