I'd just buy a 120GB and get a 500GB 2.5" HDD from NCIX when they go on sale. |
i got me a 320gb at ncix for 60ish |
hmm i guess i could use that extra $50 to get a game right? ok thanks! |
get a bigger HDD, and then put the original 120 in an external case. boom tonnes of room, and you can easily add lots of stuff to your PS3 from your PC |
yepyep! just bought the 120gb! |

considering it's usually only the older single laser drives that burn out, that makes it at least a few years old. Plus the serial number on it is likely tied to you somewhere. If you're able to follow a basic tutorial and have a few screwdrivers you can easily replace the laser unit yourself, a new one might cost up to $100 though depending on the model. |
It's the fat one :( Damn. Alright, thanks for the advice guys. I'm going to head to Parker Place to see if that guy there can fix it, else its off to Crystal. |

Also is it possible to buy a 99 cent item from the psn store and not have to withdraw the minimum $5 to your wallet? Can I buy a psn card for an exact amount of like $1.15? |

So apparently, geohot(george hotz, the iphone hacker who unlocked and jailbroke iphone 1g) has claimed to have hacked his way into the memory and chipset of the ps3. All without a physical modchip. His hack allows the user to write into the memory. As of now, he hasn't posted how he did it, since if he did, sony will most likely find a way to fight him knowing how fast sony can pump out firmwares. Fact or fiction? Only time will tell. What we do know is that geohotz is pretty damn credible with his hacks. Posted via RS Mobile |
I'm gonna call bs, I have a spare PS3 to fiddle with if anything gets released but didn't that guy just compile info from a bunch of Russian guys and people all over the world he was talking to for the iPhone? Or was that a different dude? Even still, he might just be writing random data into a wall of encrypted stuff. |
meh ps3 already serves as a decent multimedia system so homebrew is meh blank BD roms/burners are still too expensive so pirating games is useless. |
