Prices have gone down, It's just that it's freaking slow to burn one plus I support buying games. :)

pirating PS2 games was one big reason DVD writer and media came down in price

i hope they dont....i think they should take another 7-8 years...and absolutely release the most EPIC Console ever....i dont want them to punch a new one out to quickly...

plus the next gen xbox will only par with the current ps3....so we got lots of time for Sony R&D

sweet, hdd install patch for bayonetta :). I already finished the game without the patch but this will make it a more enjoyable experience

I don't think we'll see a PS4 until 2013-2014 at the earliest. Aren't Sony and Microsoft making motion add ons for their current systems right now that won't even be out till the end of the year? Why would they bother if the console was going to be replaced a year later.

Microsoft said xbox's life cycle won't end for another 10 years... And I don't believe the ps3 is maxed out yet.

they said the same for PS2 (10 years which is true)...just cause the life cycle won't end doesn't mean they wont release a next-gen console.

From what i remember PS2 sales were still higher than PS3's even 2 years into PS3's debut. Either way I'm also hoping it won't be out for a long while so it'll make the $600 price tag that i paid it at seem more worth it.

The thing uses DVD's... IMO from a design standpoint the 360 is barely this gen, unless they have some crazy overpriced addons I don't see how it could try to keep up.

The backwards compatibility on the 80's gb models are Software emulated. So there is no Hardware based emulation like the 60gb models and first batch of 80's. I'm pretty sure he's adding backwards compatibility by borrowing the software codings from the 80 gb models to all other models.

It's a long time coming before the next PS is released. It's not even near full potential yet. For sure we'll see another Xbox before PS.
