some of the goalie masks are cool. Who started it ? anyone know ?

Gerry Cheevers was the first goaltender to have artwork on his mask but Doug Favell was the first to use a painted design on his mask.

Stitches were painted on where he got hit in the mask by a puck, stick, or skate - to prove a point. Many goaltenders up to that time did not wear masks. I think Johnny Bower was one of the last goalies not to wear a mask.

I don't get this Adam Mair incident. Is this really about Ruutu or Neil?

The designs every year is awesome, but theres just alot of new masks this season mainly due to the sooo secretive 3rd jerseys. I really really like the Grant Fuhr inspired oilers mask. And i must say, Sanford probably has one of the sweetest mask this year around the league.
It's broduers year to celebrate. So a new mask has been painted to promote his new site MB30.

Brunnstrom seems to be a defensive liability. Check out his plus/minus stats. Aside from his first game where he had the hat trick, he's been mediocre.
