I'm not liking the idea of using Wellwood on the 3rd line simply because he doesn't finish his checks. I mean the 3rd line has the shutdown duty, and putting him there, it doesn't seem like he'll finish his checks or be physical. Offensively it may seem like a good idea, something that would work, but once they're on defense, it doesn't seem too great.

Ditto! I worked for a band once that played for a big outdoor BBQ thing as part of the Courtnalls' Fishing Derby, got to meet a few of the old crew, including Cliffy.

Appearently, he is going through the steps players are taking in the pre-season before training camp.
He was in Toronto to get a physical done and will be heading to LA to do 2 weeks of on-ice training. Heard this on the news this morning.

He's obviously waiting it out until January and gonna hop on the team with the most cup potential at the time. Or he can play more mind games and say he'll come to Vancouver only if he gets captaincy. That could be more "fun" drama... :wiggle:
