LOL ALEX DAIGLE LMAOOOOOOO

SumAznGuy 05-16-2009 11:55 PM

Moose are 2-0 now with a 5-2 win where grabner scored 2 goals and Cody got his first goal.

Harvey Specter 05-17-2009 12:03 AM

Wings/Hawks game should be good later today.

SumAznGuy 05-17-2009 12:14 AM

I just don't like what the league is doing messing with the start times and dates of the games.

Besides the fact that the Nuck's are not in it, the time off without hockey is boring me and I no longer am as interested in the playoffs as before.

SAVE US, CODY HODGSON

Seriously, after seeing the way he played at the World's and that game with the Moose, can't wait for him to get up here. I don't want to rush his development but he looks like he has the size and smarts for the NHL already.

Any bets on Grabner making the team next year?

AV and th head coach had the balls to defy their superiors and demote daigle though. If anything, they didn't condone the blind love for the so called superstar.

I'm curious about this too... but many many many pages back Hondaracer said Grabner will never make the NHL............ at the time I totally disagreed... now... I actually think I might agree. I mean, Jaffray will never stick here and he scores more than Grabner does at the AHL level.

I agree, but only because the team needs a few entry level contracts to make the salary cap.

i wrote up a huge post but decided not to bore everyone with it. Basically, the team has over $33M. tied up with the players that are signed for next year, and if the twins get $6M each, the team is up to $45M in salaries which covers 1 goalie, 4 d-men, 9 forwards. If the cap stays the same, that only leaves around 10M to sign the remaining players.

Still to be signed include players like Sundin, Pylon, Wellfed, Hansen, and Rypien.

Go Wings Go!!!!!

punkwax 05-17-2009 06:30 PM

I can't cheer for the Wings. Its like cheering for Tiger Woods. Fun and exciting to watch, yes, but I have to cheer for someone else. As much as I can't stand the Hawks right now, they get my vote.

Overall, Go Pens!

wahyinghung 05-17-2009 09:39 PM

Yeah Go Wings ! Yeah 5-2!

Tim Budong 05-18-2009 04:13 PM

and i'll still stand by that point.

the only downside of hodgson's game at this point seems to be his skating, but smart players typically can adjust and improve their game to make up for skating

Grabner on the other hand is a rounded player who would need to excel to be able to make the big club, from the stats and small bits ive seen here and there i'd like to think he looks like a 3rd liner at best and an inconsistant one at that.

Point production in the AHL doesn't necessarily determine whether a player makes it to the NHL or not. If you only look at point production , Jason Krog outscores nearly everyone in the AHL and he can't even stick with an NHL team.

Wow.. Scary moment for Adam Burish. Playoff beard saved his life

JSALES 05-18-2009 09:00 PM

^ that was a close call, holy shit

Harvey Specter 05-18-2009 09:21 PM

Close call indeed.

goo3 05-18-2009 10:04 PM

Hodson reminds me of recent players who've made a similar impact during the world juniors:

Richards, Carter, Perry, Getzlaf, etc.. all-star calibre players

Jason Krog was on the radio with B. Mac and Scott on the team 1040.

Interesting in that he won the Calder cup with Chicago last year while scoring 112 points. After looking at his stats, he has shown great scoring ability in the AHL. Definately more than a point a game pace, but he turning 34. At this point, he might just be a lifer in the AHL.

I hope Grabner doesn't end up with the same fate.

PavelGTR 05-19-2009 06:28 PM

Tic tac goal mutha fuckas. Go Detroit, Fuck Chicago.
