Cohens Japanese stuff is getting quite good, a more recent post of a leg looked amazing

I actually think that besides horiryu, cohen is one of the best japanese/irezumi style artists that we have in vancouver

Yeah i already got some colouring in actually. Looks so messy right now since there's random patches of colours everywhere haha.

That's pretty hardcore for a chick. What did you have in mind? If you're getting something traditional then horiryu is your guy.

Secret. Show you guys when i get it done. but yeah, i've been searching for the right artist for years for my sleeve, and I've become a huge fan of his stuff. Buddy of mine has a sleeve by him and oh my god the details...beautiful work.

Heh...i actually want two pieces by horiryu. full sleeve first, then full back. One thing at a time though.

I'm actually curious as to how well i'll tolerate the pain. I have a chronic pain condition and sometimes that causes me to feel more pain while getting tattooed. I almost cried when i had a certain part of my ribs done and yet other parts of my ribs were ok; almost fell asleep. Some parts are just extra sensitive I guess.

The addiction is real. Do you guys where I could learn more about traditional japanese characters and themes? Any good documentaries?

Japanese tattooing is based off of their mythology, so maybe look into translations of traditional scrolls if you want the back stories behind the characters? Also, I think most irezumi artists base their works on old paintings so maybe look into those too. Japanese culture is so fascinating

Chronic ink was an amazing experience. The short time I was there I learned a ton of artistic techniques and tattoo techniques as well.

Couldn't pursuade the head artist to come down but many of the other amazingly talented artist will be coming to Vancouver to guest spot at our shop in the near future.
