Nobody as good AFAIK. Just take the ferry, it's worth it!

You're talking about something that will last the rest of your life, and you can't take a 2 hour ferry to Victoria? Come on! lol

threezero 07-06-2012 10:20 AM

Damn he is in Victoria now? Last time I got work done by him he was working near gastown

SkinnyPupp 07-06-2012 11:14 AM

Yeah not the only great artist to leave Vancouver. Adam Sky is in San Francisco now too

Nicolas don't take this the wrong way but you just made the perfect case as to why it's a bad idea to stick random script tattoos on your body.. they NEVER work with future tattoos.

Nicotine 07-06-2012 09:12 PM

it wasnt random. its somthing that i chose to do for a purpose it marked a point in my life and i would never have it removed or covered up. and it sits perfectly where i wanted it to. so random script to you has meaning to me. i appreciate the thought tho.

SkinnyPupp 07-06-2012 09:38 PM

I was referring to the placement, not the meaning... But I think people get it :)

threezero 07-07-2012 02:13 AM

Random script can work if your gonna doing the surrounding With say Chicano black and gray. But definitely won't work if yours into Japanese stuff...

SkinnyPupp 07-07-2012 02:20 AM

chicano script works.. random script with surrounding chicano? I dunno.... Maybe!

threezero 07-07-2012 07:53 AM

Oh yes I meant Chicano script not cursive looking ones, it's the only type of script I personally like, my bad =p

Pat Berube at port side tattoo is pretty awesome at portraits, and doesn't have a huge wait list, AND he's a rad dude to boot. He did the work on my chest, although not portrait work at all.

If I was to go see if I could get a sleeve piece done at a place like monkey king or strictly tattoo will they not be as willing to work on my arm that's already got Hannya from adrenaline or can they work around it while adding there own style or does that just end up looking weird. And the hannyas on the inside of my bi if that matters

threezero 07-10-2012 12:31 AM

if they are not willing it is probably because the hannya is gonna interfere with the composition of the sleeve and they don't want their name attach to inferior work.. beside they are loads of other ppl with clean arms waiting to be work. Do the other arm

SkinnyPupp 07-10-2012 12:37 AM

Yeah if you're talking about a sleeve, start with a clean arm. Otherwise just go for a collection

Alpine50 07-11-2012 01:31 AM

How much is a sleeve roughly in the thousands for sure?

threezero 07-11-2012 03:12 AM

^ depends on complexity, detail, black & gray or color etc. Best thing is to talk to the artist you want to do your sleeve. imo if you are gonna sleeve out your arms don't settle for less, its the most visible tattoo you will ever have for the rest of your life. Besides you almost never pay the total upfront you can split it into manageable sessions.

Talk to your artist. but yea expect you to be at least 4 figures

silvercivicdx 07-11-2012 04:36 PM

lets put it this way
my calf from ankle to the back of the knee

about 3/4 way around my leg was 1300
but i had talked to my artist and the he made my last session free

depends whos the artist,
im sure some there's some on craigslist for like $50/h
and then there's artists that charge by piece

Alpine50 07-12-2012 12:41 PM

50/hr sounds like a cheap tattoo or are rates lower because your getting a sleeve?
And yeah understandable on the artist and all. Either going full or half gotta think about it for a while personally don't really know what I want yet figured I'd give him kind of an idea and go from there
