Skinnypupp: the steveston one you posted is $100 per hour? Are they good with finishing other artist work? It's Japanese koi and dragon just in case. |
No they are not 100 per hour. That day they are doing 100 dollar tattoos that you can pick off a custom flash sheet. They are probably the best place around for traditional Americana work, but they also do nice Japanese. Ryan Halter is booked at least a few months and not sure about Jesse Strong at the moment. They also get a lot of good artists doing guest spots. Not sure about reworking other artists work, you would have to go in and talk to them. |

was chatting with a guy at the local bar about tattoo and he showed me his tattoo done by horiyoshi the third himself. Have to say it was a total let down..... i'm rethinking my plan to get real traditional work done now =\ |

BTW I wouldn't put it past people to say that their tattoos were done by Horiyoshi III ;) |
yea lasering it off would be stupid. it must have cost a fortune to put it on in the first place and to be tattoo by horiyoshi is truly an honor consider the role he plays in the tattoo history and community. the guys sounds legit, the price he told me also sounds legit, i took a look at the color the depth is definitely something else but the entire piece is a still a total letdown. could be because of the size, its a palm size tiger... hoping to one day spot at least a sleeve or two from horiyoshi i'm sure that would change my mind |
Why would you get a tiger that small? :seriously: I'm surprized the artist would do something like that. As you can see, it just makes his work look bad. Don't go based on that one poor decision, I think if you like 100% pure traditional, go for it. Personally I'm not into it, so whatevs :) |

Definitely, some people would say "oh yea I got it done by Hori and lie" but in this case I know it's legit because I saw pics of Hori doing work on him. I've actually debated lasering my first tattoo I got, decisions decision! |

A pick of the chest tying into my half sleeve. No tattoos planned for a little bit now. My ribs are being started by justin ormiston in september. Might need to start something on my forearm to tide me over. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...6/IMG_0138.jpg |

I really like the piece. Are you panning on filling your whole arm up though? I feel like it needs some surrounding to it. Not that it doesn't look good on its own. |
thats my leg !..yes i am gonna have more, (leg sleeves up to my knees).. i have full arm sleeves and chest done already. |
