has anyone on here had any work done by James Acrow? Just wondering how long a wait list he has. I sent him an email a couple weeks ago outlining the theme of the tattoo I want but no response yet. :okay:

I pretty much have my mind set on him doing my sleeve, the realism of his work is too amazing to pass on

winson604 04-27-2012 10:50 AM

Not a tattoo of my style but I recognize sick art when I see it. Very very nice threezero!!! Any story behind you getting that or?

Alpine50 04-27-2012 01:30 PM

Damn looks sick man, who did you get it done by?

threezero 04-27-2012 02:14 PM

Klown did everything on my lower leg. He is part of the lowrider tattoo crew.

I got it because I always wanted a Medusa and this statue by Berlini is the only one that shows the tragic side of her and is base on the story of how Medusa came to be. No epic story other than I like it.

in retrospect i should of have plan my shit better, now i have some weird empty space on that leg that i need to fill out and its not big enough for another big piece=\

SkinnyPupp 04-27-2012 06:12 PM

Personally I love white space between tattoos, and I'm glad I decided against doing full sleeves. A good artist can make different pieces work together, and the negative space itself can look good.

westopher 04-27-2012 07:46 PM

Amazing detail on that piece. Love it.

SkinnyPupp 04-29-2012 07:14 AM

I have posted a Revscene Tattoo FAQ, but all the artist recommendations are based on nothing but my personal observations from far, far away. If you have any good recommendations, please let me know and I'll check out their portfolios and add them!

dlo 04-30-2012 12:28 AM

Its ur own beliefs lol
Google the pics of foo dog and pi yao.... Huge difference

xilley 04-30-2012 12:41 AM

change of plans, tattooist is arriving on the 22nd, so those that were comming to take a look. please reschedule.

SkinnyPupp 04-30-2012 02:47 AM

So who is on your wish list? Mine is pretty clearly defined:

Thomas Hooper (never gonna happen I think)
Cris Cleen (could happen, he works in Oregon sometimes)
Genko (could happen, but most of my japan time goes to gotch and gakkin)
Daveeeeeee blows (could happen - I just have to book an appointment! We'll see if I have the $ next week)
Murray Sell (doubt it will happen, he's all the way on the east coast)
Ron Wells (same as above)

These are the most realistic guys on my list.. I think I might have to save up and do an east coast tattoo trip one day in the far future :fuckyea:

threezero 04-30-2012 10:38 AM

i have 2 list black/grey artist and other artist

b/g
- Bob Tyrell
- Jose Lopez
- Fernie Andrade
- Robert Pho
- Carlos Torres
- Norm @ Will rise (i love his lettering, gonna get a chest piece once i laser some shit off first..)
Others
- Thomas Hooper (like you said most likely no going to happen..)
- Corey Ferguson
- Gakkin (I CAN'T WAIT! THANK YOU SKINNYPUPP!)
- Horiryu(i want a real traditional backpiece from this guy)
- Genko (unrealistic.. looks like he doesn't leave japan much and i never go to japan)
- Wendy Pham

my right thigh is reserve for random shit and souvenir pieces, small pieces from tattoo legend, practice skin for my self and having close frd do little tattoos on it

gonna go to amsterdam in june, will make sure to visit the tattoo museum and try to get a souvenir piece from hanky panky

SkinnyPupp 04-30-2012 06:38 PM

Oh yeah Bob Tyrrell too! Would love to get a portrait of Ohgr... I am saving my back for a gotch/gakkin collaboration... but that will be a loooooong time coming I think :okay:

You should head to Japan some time, it's actually not THAT expensive to go from HK.. there is a new budget airline that is opening a route soon too Peach

Hondaracer 04-30-2012 07:28 PM

after going to Mexico and seeing a bunch of work i'm kind of leaning towards getting some work done.. starting off with a sleeve from my shoulder to elbow i'm thinking

i was thinking like a good VS evil type thing one each arm, an arch angel/knight on one and a demon/devil on the other

somthing like:

http://www.deviantart.com/download/1...tain_Jesse.jpg

http://m2.casaimg.com/wallpapercasa/...4490684320.jpg

most likely with a shrouded veil like that as to not put a face on it etc., id also like to go more "gothic" and maybe even a bit mechanical in the style

dont really know where to start though, after watching a few of those documentries I really like "grime"s style but i dont know if id want any color or not

it's all just talk and thoughts anyways but meh

VR6GTI 05-01-2012 09:57 AM

^ thats a cool picture, im actually getting something similar on my ribs at the end of may.

threezero 05-01-2012 10:37 AM

I don't know i've never seen anime art translate to good looking tattoo. please do proof me wrong by posting some awesome picture of sweet ass anime tattoos

Hondaracer 05-01-2012 12:38 PM

It wouldn't be anime if I got it I'll tell ya that much lol just examples

SkinnyPupp 05-01-2012 06:00 PM

I think that theme would look best if it was a black and grey piece inspired by woodcut or old art. Think along the lines of Durer. Here's a piece by Thomas Hooper inspired by a Durer apocalypse woodcut. Hooper kills it of course, but I think the source material is very cool.

Something traditional would look better than the video game character look you have posted. 3zero is right, it will look kind of like a "I don't normally get tattoos" tattoo that a lot of people get. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

phantom x 05-01-2012 06:16 PM

wow,.. amazing work threezero!... realizm is not my thing but i do love looking at the work,.. that is one bad ass ink dude.

p.s. i'm going in 3 weeks to start my leg sleeve, not sure wich side first yet.

Hondaracer 05-01-2012 06:31 PM

yea, like i said i'd like to go more gothic or even mechanical in the look, but i do really like that style you posted there
