She has a lot of content on the powerpoint slides and she goes through a lot in lectures, so I THINK you'd be okay without the textbook if you're one of those people that really pay attention and take lots of notes; I'm not one of those people, so i got the textbook :D and so far I have actually been using it to help me do the worksheets lol. Also if you're in hkin, i believe you'll use the book again for 1191??

I feel like it's kind of useless to keep attending her classes because she basically goes over the powerpoints. I also can't really differentiate when she's rambling and when she's explaining extra testable material because she talks fast, in my opinion. It's starting to feel like a self-study course now, so I def bought the text :P I hope that doesn't screw me over midterm time.

Im in his 1230 class on tue/thu, you guys have any idea about next tuesday's midterm?

BillyBishop 10-15-2012 04:04 AM

It's tonight for me at 7pm

Part A, 25 multiple choice, 1 mark each
Part B, 5 short-answer, 15 marks each. Can be answered point-form

Quizzes have been dead easy... got 100% on nearly all. Hopefully this one is as easy lol

Mike Oxbig 10-16-2012 08:49 AM

Recon604 10-16-2012 08:58 PM

anyone took MATH 1171 taught by Pichmony Anhaouy?

Gilgamesh 10-17-2012 12:58 AM

^ Friend said he was decent. They need to re-do the business scheduling because most of the business classes are at 6:30....

Me too, damn, thought those 5 short answer questions would actually be short... they had 4 or 5 subparts each!

Yep, had a great time in his class, also did 1271 with him. Once you get over the accent it's all good. Be sure to see him in his office if you have any questions.

When I took 1271 he had his lecture slides posted online as well as past quizzes and midterms with answers, really helpful. He didn't do that when I did 1171.

Always makes fun of his wife :lol

Recon604 10-17-2012 06:18 AM

Wow you guys give him good reviews. I dont really like him tat much. His quizzes are easy but the midterm was hard. Half the class failed.

I was wondering if you any of you guys still got his midterms

Anyone had precalc roodal persad or danenhower? How are they? Haven't been able to find them on rate my prof!

BillyBishop 10-18-2012 08:02 PM

I had Linear Algebra with Peter (Danenhower)

Great instructor, I loved his class, but you'll have to get used to his way of speaking... he mumbles a lot and gets really quiet. Just be sure to remind him, he doesn't mind repeating himself at all! He's incredibly helpful during office hours, be sure to take advantage of it.

Keep yourself involved in class and you'll do fine. He doesn't pick on people to answer questions but it's in your best interest to be vocal in class.

gunz4hire 10-20-2012 10:35 PM

fack... i only have 2 courses this semester cuz i registered late and im a freshman. will this screw me over?

BaoTurbo 10-20-2012 11:38 PM

No, it would just mean that you need to take summer as well because 2 courses a semester is too little to keep up

slingblade 10-22-2012 05:32 PM

Hey for those of you who are familiar with Langara.

I'm heading there on Saturday all day for a conference. First time going there, will I have to pay for parking all day? Or is there somewhere I can park for free that is safe?
