Thanks for the reply.
Sorry to hear you didn't make it past the 2nd.
Can't win them all I guess.

What is on the tech test on the computer?

Appreciate it.

2nd one on one interview is more important
in group interview, they'll ask questions(posted in this thread) and everyone put their hands up and answer
few other questions,
-TSR advised customer to update audio driver to fix sound card problem and now computer doesn't boot after driver update, should he pay for repair?
-what Shaw need to do to stay competitive
-what you look for in a job(benfit, wage, opportunity to grow etc...)

after that tech test on computer

2nd internview is same as anyother CSR/TSR interviews
explaining various exp and situation you and in the past

GL, i failed after 2nd interview:mad:

just 20~30 questions on internet/os and TV in general
just off topy of my head, what is the name of default email program, browser in Vista and Mac
that does SPAM acronyms for?
what IP address do you get when there is no internet connection and or connected to router
do you need terminal(box) to watch PPV?
etc...

blazingazn 06-18-2009 11:51 PM

Sounds good.

I think I'll wear the shirt and tie, it's not too formal.

you failed right there! whether its the first or the last interview, you always dress up. you dont need a full 3-piece suit but dress pants, dress shoes, shirt and tie.

That's my logic.

You should always look like you respect the people interviewing you.

Shaw is not for me. I quit after 9 months.

blazingazn 06-24-2009 10:14 PM

Thanks for all the help folks.
My interview is 10am tommorrow.

Wish me luck!
Any last minute help / advice is greatly appreciated.

blazingazn 06-30-2009 09:21 AM

SHAW hasn't yet called me back.
I hate the waiting game :(

Is this a bad sign?

MikeyStyle 06-30-2009 09:33 AM

it's only been about 5 days so far.. did they give you a time frame of when they'll call you back?

blazingazn 06-30-2009 09:51 AM

Yeah they said 2-3 Weeks.
Just scared because someone one here told them right away.

Thanks again for your help guys, the questions you posted up here, they are exactly what was asked!
If anyone need help and tips on a shaw interview, post here I tell you what I can.

Am I right in assuming they don't interview more than 1 once a month?

I didn't know they were hiring, I haven't seen job post since like april.
It took them maybe week and half to get back to me, via EMAIL

btw, if they are hiring again, would they interview someone who had interview before? I want to know if I should even bother applying again

blazingazn, if you get hired, just let us know when there is new opening

40ft e-Peen 06-30-2009 03:57 PM

When I was hired at Shaw, they contacted me the next day after my 1 on 1 interview.

Just apply anyways.

Apparently they hire new folks every month or so.
Even if the job posting is old it's valid if online.

But if I do hear anything about new positions. I will definitely post it up.
You guys really helped me out here.

Couple hours after I posted they called me about my second interview, lol.

I'm doing it on July 10th, Friday.
Any tips on what to expect, and question examples?

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate all your help.
Cross your fingers for me.

MikeyStyle 07-01-2009 09:36 AM

it's similar to the group interview..

i just got asked more situational questions, past job experiences and also what i can provide to the company, etc.

that's what I actually meant, not suit up as if this was interview for some manager position
I didn't mean you can show up in shorts and flip flaps lol

I thought you already had 2nd interview lol
They really did take long time, I got call for 2nd interview like hours after group interview
I can't remember all the questions but they are same as any other customer rep interviews
tell us when you had to do this or do that
where do you see yourself in the future
how many times have you been late/no show for work
one question I remember is give an example when I had to make a decision
or do something for customer, without supervisor's approval or out of company's policies

if you have worked at call centre before, they'll ask you about call time
shaw seems to take call time pretty seriously and to keep it as short as possible, appearently they have call review everyday or something

blazingazn 07-08-2009 05:16 PM

can someone explain call time.

i've worked at a call centre before but it was for safety info line so it wasn't very busy.

MikeyStyle 07-09-2009 12:14 AM

call times:

  • att (average talk time): the amount of time you spent talking on a call
  • awt (average work time): the amount of time you spent while finishing up the previous call and not ready to take the next call
  • aht (average handle time): att + awt

i don't remember the exact details.. but you generally try to keep your aht under 11 minutes

blazingazn 07-09-2009 09:18 AM

Hey guys big day is tomorrow.

Any last minute tips?

MikeyStyle 07-09-2009 09:53 AM

just relax

answer their questions the best you can

if by chance you don't succeed, try and try again

Keiichi 07-14-2009 04:07 PM

they still hiring? just put in an application last thursday.

MikeyStyle 07-14-2009 04:23 PM

yeah, they're still hiring

blazingazn 07-14-2009 11:45 PM

Yep they hire every month I believe.

If they like your application you'll get a phone call from them within the next 2 weeks.

Keiichi 07-15-2009 02:30 AM

Try Bellmobility or Rogers, I think they allow students to work
