you can't be serious...Flying Pig is so inconsistent most of the time it fucking sucks there. When its good its fucking great, however, more often than not, it sucks. Fritz or la belle patate is king.

Also, at least with NYF you know what you're gonna get lol

willystyle 06-24-2016 06:28 AM

Fritz is meh. Haven't had anything better than La Belle Patate.

Do not try costco poutine if the line isn't long as fuck, otherwise they give you fries that have been sitting. Not that it's a problem since it's lined up most of the time, but always have someone in front of you so the chance they fry a new batch is higher. Depending on your liking, ask for a bit of extra gravy.

Tell them to do their shit in this order: Cheese curds, fries then gravy on top so the cheese curds have the heat to help it melt.

I have much experience with the costco at stadium.

Armind 06-24-2016 08:13 AM

Fuck. I want poutine nao.

MarkyMark 06-24-2016 08:40 AM

This is aways out there but if you're ever passing through 70 mile there's a place called the sugar shack that's run by a French Canadian and the poutine there is awesome.

syee 06-24-2016 09:41 AM

Forgot about this thread.

Frenchies (pretty much where Broadway & Main intersect) was pretty decent when I tried it about a month ago.

Welcome to Frenchies Montreal Smoked Meat in Vancouver, Canada!

Had some at Costco the other day as well. They skimped on the gravy so it kinda sucked.

any good places in surrey? lol. everything being recommended is in vancouver or in your case 70mile.

Armind 06-24-2016 10:40 AM

Taphouse has a pretty good poutine, but that was when they first opened.

Not sure if they're consistent since I haven't been there in awhile.

Food safety? They gotta keep them refrigerated, possibly frozen before the cafeteria opens up. I remember one time where the curds were a colder than just cold.

frites opened 24/7 yall got no excuses haha

I second that.
Almost every fast food chain served it at one point or another. ALL garbage.
McDonald's, Wendy's, A&W, Taco Bell, KFC - all terrible.
If I had to eat 1 out of all the chains though it would be Burger King.
NYF doesn't count as a "regular fast food" joint because they are a specialty FRY shop, and they still don't make a very good poutine lol. However they are slightly better than all the aforementioned shops.

That sounds like it would actually make the Costco poutine decent because the last few times I ordered it there the cheese was always cold and hard. Not a fan. However I'm not sure if I should be so specific with the grumpy lady behind the counter, she might spike my gravy lol.

I am ashamed to proclaim myself the Poutine King haha. I have consumed poutine in almost every establishment that serves it in the lower mainland.

- The Poutine Pizza at Brado's was hilarious. Too bad they closed.
- The Lucic Poutine was pretty good but kinda pricey and there were so many toppings in there I couldn't figure out what I was eating half the time.
- Flying Pig poutine was way too soggy felt like I was eating a mush.
- Smoke's poutine was just alright.
- Dunn's poutine was a disappointment, but the smoked meat sandwich was good.
- Did not like Frenchie's poutine the gravy was too watery.
- Fritz is solid but it's always busy
- my go-to is still La Belle. The Deluxe Smoked Meat or Meat Lovers and their smoked meat sandwich (they only serve the sandwich until 9pm)... :sweetjesus:

I'm forgetting many others but if you want a personal opinion on a place that has poutine you can probably ask and chances are I've swallowed it lol.

TOS'd 06-27-2016 07:59 PM

Butter chicken poutine at Roots Cafe, Main & 41st

Marshall Placid 06-27-2016 08:04 PM

Smoke on the water bbq in Gibsons.

Meat Lover's Poutine - IMO, absolutely heavenly meat poutine.

Pulled pork and "pig's candy" which is like a sweet version of beef jerky.

roflwaffle604 06-27-2016 09:34 PM

Fritz is my go to place for poutine. Heard good things about La Belle Patate though

jinxcrusader 07-03-2016 01:55 AM

I found La Belle's gravy really salty compared to most other places I've been to.
I like Fat Burger's poutine

Not fair to post pictures of poutine we don't have access to :p

Ronin 07-03-2016 08:08 PM

I made him play Marvin Gaye while making that. True story.

I was really dissapointed with La Belle. I took my brother there since he was visiting from Asia and hadnt had poutine since he moved back. We each got the meat lovers but when it arrived, the cheese was hard as hell. Like not even melted at all, when we asked them if they could add more gravy or microwave it, the cook said it was suppose to be like that.
