Meowjin 03-01-2009 03:15 AM

fritz is the best. Gotta get a dip to go with that poutine1!!

akira112 03-01-2009 08:45 AM

DQ, Belgian fries, Zogs up @ Whistler.

Fritz looks good, gotta give that try.

Volvoman 03-01-2009 09:26 AM

Poutine was $5 for the medium. If you're hungry, the medium will do. If you're really, really starving, go for the large. The XL is only for people sharing..unless you're hardcore.

But then again, while I was there I saw a dude order a medium, eat it on the spot, then order another one for the road as he was walking home...

not going to downtown for a poutine....

HonestTea 03-01-2009 07:00 PM

Just bought a Costco Poutine and you guys weren't lying when it was huge, hahaha

I expected a bigger box but it was good for the price, compared to NYF.

I didn't taste it fresh cause my friend bought it for me and came to my place, it was a little cold, so I oven'd it (PS: Styrofoam melts in ovens LOL) The cheese was semi-melted before I shoved it in the oven, it was more like room-temperature cheese, not frozen.

It was a bit soggy(as expected cause I didn't eat it right away) but it was extremely salty, not sure what caused it, I'm thinking the gravy cause my friend told me, the girl kept pumping gravy into the box and it was like a pond inside the box. LOL

Overall 7/10, better then NYF and it was pretty filling with lots of melted cheese too!

NimbeeTT 03-01-2009 08:34 PM

Yeah, costco poutine is the best imo. and worth its price
Im not a big fan of anything New york fries, i find the fries really dry and salty and i personally dont like the skin on the potatoes =/

Slif 03-01-2009 09:55 PM

Fritz is better than most places in town, but I dream of Chambar's

taylor192 03-02-2009 01:52 PM

Anyone been to Ottawa? The Elgin St Dinner served a poutine that was the size of a whole plate for $6.99... or you could upgrade the hashborwns in your breakfast to a poutine... for less than $10 total!

I miss east coast food, serving sizes, and prices. Damn left coast taxes.

worrd??

murd0c 03-02-2009 02:20 PM

I worked at NYF at Famous players in guildford for a bit. I made the best Poutune around. The trick when making it is to get the fries more crispy then normal so the gravy won't turn it into a soup.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-04-2009 05:08 PM

^ seriously guys give fritz a try

than u will say the same as me

forget, KFC, burger king, costco, and A&W (gross)

this is the real deal , the shit
and no i recommand eating on site, so it doesnt get soggy when u take out
hell, i ate a sandwich and scallop roll and a cali roll at lunch

than 3pm i went for a large cuz i had this craving for a decent poutine. googled it up and ppl raved about it, so i was like aww wat the hell

i think i will try XL tomorrow haha

u can add chicken, bacon bits, or even montreal meats!!! crazy

they have like 9 dipping sauces, didnt bother to try. wanted the original poutine flavour

drool
their fries are nice and crispy, not soggy shit. gravy is decent yet not overpower nor too salty like costco.
the way they filll it up is half way the filling they stop and add some curd cheese with gravy, than stop and continue to stuff the fries. By the time they reach the top more cheese curd and more gravy. its the shitttt
