Hi! Thanks for the feedback. Sorry for the late reply.

I checked out Gossip, but it was the wrong night. Then we stumbled onto Lush and that was pretty cool.

We only spent two whole days in HCM, and the second day was to go to the tunnels LoL.

We got raped on food though. We look way too much like tourists!

Case in point, this skinny guy comes into the gym the other day, must have only weighed ~ 140lbs, loads on 2 plates on the bench rack, mutters to himself, for sparta, unracks the barbell and proceeds to drop it directly on his chest.

Heads up to anyone coming to Vietnam. VN Airlines, pretty much the only company offering domestic flights has put their rates up like 15% - 20%. I would suggest booking as far in advance as possible if flying with in the country. Flying into Vietnam from other South East Asian Countries I would suggest booking through Air Asia.

Air Asia doesn't seem to fly into Vietnam according to its online booking site.

Maybe try changing the site to Country Vietnam. Search in "from" first as there are flights to HCMC, Hanoi and Da Nang. They mainly do KL and Bangkok however have many more through HCMC.

hcmc > nha trang > dalat > da nang > hoi an > hanoi > ha long bay

I'm planning on going in April for 2 weeks to meet up with a friend since she will be travelling around asia. What places would you suggest on a short period of time. I know 2 weeks isnt much but we were also thinking of making a side trip to check out Thailand.

I'm pretty much down for anything, some culture, some relaxation, and some partying.

2 weeks is plenty of time for 2 days in each of the best cities. most likely you should rent a car if you're traveling with a friend so you can see EVERYTHING.

partying - saigon, can tho, hai phong(dangerous g's but fun), hanoi

relaxing - nha trang, danang, phu quoc, con dao island, mui ne, vung tau (last choice)

culture - hue, hoi an, there's a lot more, but i can honestly say i haven't been.

any of you guys get to nam, gimme a shout and i'll point you in the right direction, much easier that way.

098 7772227
or
0915 767 989

if i don't pick up, leave me an sms.

here's the diamond bay website for the people planning to hit up nha trang:

..::WELCOME TO DIAMOND BAY RESORT & SPA

again, i'll hook up RS'ers with crazy discounts and throw in few freebies, better deals for all mods who makes the RS experience what it is!

What type of clothes do you guys wear in most of the clubs in Vietnam? I'm guessing most of these places wont be air conditioned?

same as you would anywhere else in the world. Don't expect to rock up in shorts and sandals especially in Saigon or Hanoi unless your in the back packer area. Some places have dress codes others don't. A lot of people in the bigger cities that are out clubbing have decent - insane amounts of money, don't be fooled just because it is Vietnam.

If you want the time of day from the girls then dress accordingly.

Probably because so many them are just back packer idiots and have budgets of 100,000vnd a day. A lot of Expats who actually live in Vietnam that aren't English teachers will dress appropriately. Not many of the clubs in Vietnam would turn away foreigners because of how they are dressed.

Just came back from Vietnam. First time back since 15 years ago.

I went with my parents and met all my family members that I haven't seen in 15 years. Had a blast.

Fuck I miss it...

I booked my three weeks vacation in mid november to hk, given the fact that ive never been to vietnam before im thinking if i should head over to saigon. I dont speak any viet at all other then swearing, cheesy pickup lines and counting one to ten. I did a quick research over at tripadvisor to get an idea of the place. What are the "hot spots" in saigon? Any info would be greatly appreciated. THanks

Weather wise not the best time of year... Typhoons, rain storms, etc...

The hot spots change frequently, better off to look into where to go a month before you come. The best spots are not on trip advisor

Comming out to Vietnam in March! Going north-south so I can hit up Phenom Penh from Saigon.

I'm glad I found this thread, definitely going to hit up those sandy beaches in phu quoc and surf it up on hoi an. Boss_clad, What city should I call you from?
