they're taking their losses that seriously? |

Plus, this year marks the first where they haven't won a gold in figure skating, a field that Russia has dominated for over 50 years. Their forecast at the beginning was 40 medals. They got 15. The 15 isn't bad but when they were destroyed at so many of their primary sports (esp figure skating...), they're taking it seriously. It would be like if we lost at hockey or if the Dutch lost at speed skating. |

not a good impression to be giving the world, especially when they'll be the host city of the next winter games |
i dunno about all of you but i've been watching watching all our gold medal videos on ctvolympics.ca all day today... |

but in all honestly, the great Czar was embarrassed in Vancouver. It wasnt just the hockey to them. Russia holds great pride and great champions in Figure Skating, and for them to be shutdown in GOLD, especially the pairs where they have furiously dominated in the past shows the frustration going through the Russian Federation. It would be the same if Holland was completely shown up and dominated in longtrack speedskating. That would be a devastating blow to the Countries pride. The dutch didnt whine when Sven Kramer got DQ'd, and he came back to beat an Olympic Record int he bronze race at the Oval. No country wants to get embarrassed, its plain and simple, and if this is the Russian way of doing things, then the world can only watch Ovechkin on the other hand came to town with attitude, but in the end, it was the countries poor choice that put the Russian Miracle on hold for another four years. |

it'd probably be smarter to just take 2010 with a grain of salt and move on, and figure out how to improve when the games are on their home ice everything about what they're doing just screams sore losers |
It sucks to go from such a high that was yesterday to essentially nothing today but essentially desolation and destruction of the pavilions, signage, etc. I've been watching all online clips I could find of the games and street parties, my own footage/pics, and almost every link posted on here. |
always looking back for the first high...I NEED MY DOSE OF OLYMPICS =[ |
so how much do you guys think this will increase tourism in vancouver? |
