Watching the opening ceremonies now, I miss the voices of these Olympic commentators

Is it just me or do the paralympic opening ceremonies seem like more of a party than the regular olympic opening haha

Hondaracer 03-12-2010 06:07 PM

they probably have more artistic freedom doing the paralympic opening because none of the indians are watching/complaining anymore

FUCKING JOHN FURLOUGH STOP FUCKING SPEAKING FRENCH.

MG1 03-12-2010 11:41 PM

Some place in Metropolis was clearing out 2010 Olympic stuff. It was some linen place. Can't remember the name. It was on the upper floor near the food court. They had tonnes of the shit. Stuffies, key chains, and cute slippers. Boxes and boxes of the shit at 40% off.

Nope. I don't think so. I was quite surprised Olympic stuff was sold there. Probably the quickest and easiest way of getting rid of Olympic stuff.

I secretly wanted a pair of Miga slippers. LOL. They really look soft and comfy.

Same. I left the hockey game a bit early to catch the end of the fight at Edgewater and walked back to my car, through BC Place and along Cambie. It was totally dead....eeeerily dead, matter of fact. I was disappoint. :(

It's too bad that the discussion has died down here. Here's some a great news though:

Brian McKeever has won gold in the 20KM cross-country event:

http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/2...127/story.html

Remember him? He qualified to compete in the 50K event in the Olympics, but none of the other Canadians wanted to give up their spot for him, which is understandable. I'm glad he's gotten his gold.

And Canada really took it to the Swedes in yesterday's Sledge Hockey game.

Hondaracer 03-15-2010 11:21 AM

At last nights nucks game there were Many different countries paralimpians in attendance

Did they say what his time was? Cause they were projecting that his time wasn't going to be as good as the other 4 athletes, so thats why they gave the spots to them. Woulda been nice to see how he posted, if he did better than them .

51:14.7 20km

If he were to compete in the 50km with the time he posted ( If he maintained his speed/time) he would of been in the 2h 10min range, which would of put him in the middle of the pack of the 55 who competed in the 50k. I was also kinda disappointed that he wasn't able to compete, but he won gold so I guess any of us can't complain.
