Heres the word from Heineken House of Holland
I ask the security while waiting for a few friends and CH28 and Grandmaster Tse and co.

The place is getting complaints from the surrounding citizens. If you go before 8pm, there is a capacity level of around 400-500ish ppl.
After 8, they try to move everyone out and let about 100-200more

if u cant get in? you are SOL...
get here around 630pm and stay for the night
it is fucking AWESOME

Cypress general admission tickets cancelled

VANCOUVER - Vancouver's rainy weather has forced Olympic officials to cancel 4,000 tickets at two upcoming events and more cancellations could be coming.

Officials canceled standing room tickets for the men's and women's snowboard cross events at Cypress Mountain scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Many of the tickets, which went for $50 each, had been sold more than a year ago. The standing room section accounted for about 40 per cent of the specatators at the events, officials said. All ticket holders will be refunded.

"It's disappointing," said Dave Cobb, depty chief executive of VANOC. Cobb said days of heavy rain had washed away too much snow making the area treacherous for spectators. He said the course itself had not been affected.

"This will not affect the athletes or the field of play," he said.

Cypress is expected to host 6 more events in total over the next two weeks and Cobb said more ticket cancellations may be required. The next events are the men's and women's halfpipe, which were supposed to have 2,000 standing room spectators.

Financially the hit will cost VANOC $400,000, a fraction of the $260-million in ticket revenue. Cobb said safety, not revenue, was the deciding factor in the decision.

But he added: "A dollar is a dollar."

Organizers have been scrambling for weeks to make, import and keep snow at Cypress. It's too late to bring in any more snow because competitions have started, and it has been too mild to make snow. Cobb said there is still a signficant stockpile of snow on the hill, which should protect the courses. And, he said the weather forecast looks better than it has for the last few days. While temperatures are expected to remain in the 10 C range in Vancouver, Cobb said the biggest problem for organizers is rain and wind.

I also found it amusing to see that little bitch from France, who went last, turn his back on Bilodeau when he went to go shake his hand after the final score was announced.

One of the most enduring Olympic memories for me was Beckie Scott at the 2002 games - she finished third in the cross-country event and had THE HUGEST smile on when she got on the podium... that smile just seemed pasted on through every interview she did the rest of the day. Meanwhile, the Russians who took gold and silver just stood there on the podium looking as serious as if their dogs had died.

I know! I saw her at a Canucks game once when she was about 6-7 months pregnant. Would definitely tap that!

Probably! Beckie Scott is the only person ever to get gold, silver, and bronze for the same race :)

Edit: She's also freakin' gorgeous ;)

More facepalming, the opening ceremonies should've had more french! As if announcing everything in french first and having a full song in french wasn't enough

I was there last night and was talking to one of the Dutch security guys last night, apparently how it works is that they hold about 1000 capacity for Dutch citizens, let in about 300-500ish non-Dutch (depending on time), then close the line. If by later in the evening not as many of the Dutch show up, they re-open the line for non-Dutch.

this may be a stupid question but a girlfriend of mine was wondering if they only served beer?

I'm assuming they still have a bar with all other drinks, it's just the Heinekens are on special right?

And any cover?

They really need to change this whole French is the official second language thing.
I would love to see stats on what percentage of Canadians actually speak French. I bet its about the same as people that speak Punjabi..

was at Heneiken house last night, was REALLY fun, got really drunk
Theres no cover there, everyone is allowed in but kids cant drink alcohol and must be accompanied by adults (plus they get pink wristbands instead of brown which make them easier to spot)
Yesterday there was a live band, "De Coronas", which did a great job performing, later on they had some guy singing for a bit and then a dj.

All in all, i had a good time
