We as Canadians do our part hosting the olympics and provide hospitality to the world just like any other city would.
but as for the transportation
For fuck sakes, this is the WINTER olympics, SKING and such occurs on MOUNTAINS in which most venues around the globe have ONE road up the mountain and is NOT designed to have a load for a big event.
Ya know, the networks and pundits are just fucking themselves. They're gonna go on and on for two weeks about all the little negatives and completely ignore the huge positives, and everyone will buy it... and then the athletes and tourists will get home with a completely different story, and people will be like, "WTF? But on the news, they said...", and the people coming back from Vancity will just tell them, "Buddy, the news is FUCKED."

What matters in any Olympics is how the athletes are treated and what they experience. American media, and any media for that matter, must do everything in its power to bring up controversy and criticize. The couch potatoes of America are at the mercy of the media. That's why the majority of Americans are the way they are. It's not that they are dumb, although that can be argued, it's just they don't know any better. Puppets on a string and government propaganda and media corporations are tugging at the strings.
As a peoples, Americans are very nice. Just don't tell them their country is not number one.

Anyways.. hit up LiveCity Yaletown today.
Awww I posted on RS earlier asking if anyone was going and no one responded. I got in around 8PM and was going to meet a friend there, but by the time he arrived the line up was closed off and entry denied. Matisyahu put on an awesome show, had a really cool vibe even though it was pouring rain.

Anyone else pick up that glowing Coke bottle? That thing is awesome. :D
I want that @%$# glowing Coke bottle! I went on Sunday, played all the games and scanned my aluminum bottle three times as I heard that's how you get the glow bottle. When I got to the end the staff told me to keep my bottle, and gave me a plastic bottle to "recycle" for a chance to win. Only about 1 in 30 people were winning and getting the glow bottle. I heard from a friend that on Monday night they were giving the glow bottles away to everyone.

Then again as long as the playing field is the same for everybody, it shouldn't matter. Champions find a way of winning, no matter what.
QFT, wise one.

No to mention that their drivers are... inconsistent. I've had some incredibly friendly and competant ones, and then there's the dude that got lost driving us to Whistler and actually went PAST Whistler. We were all like WTFFFFUUUUUUUU and he didn't turn back until like a quarter of the way to Pemberton. -_-
Oh, the four drivers who followed him past Whistler are idiots too. :D

Thanks buddy. Nature of the beast here. It may be annoying and whatnot, but once you get up there, you LIVE the spirit, the crowd becomes one and you know just what the hell you're up there for. Nothing else matters. People who miss out on this on nitpick the negatives I feel very, very sorry for. I've been saying this since 2003: This is the best thing to happen to Vancouver. Ever.
Oh, and where were you when Bilodeau beat that non-Aussie, non-Canadian douche? I know where I was:
Especially with the weather coming up this week, Americans will REALLY be wow'd by Vancouver...
