I experienced no difference in terms of speed when I tried to load the fucked up shit what makes you laugh thread. This was tested when I held the two devices side by side. Seems like it's not that hard to pick one up in Vancouver :D

It depends how much you value the new upgrades (facetime, super speed browsing, smart cover etc). If the new upgrades do not interest you then yeah ipad 1 would be a good deal.

Ps. If you do decide on getting an ipad 1 go check out the SFU bookstore cuz they are getting rid of their old stock. I remember they were letting the 64gb Wifi one go for 449.99+tax.

i asked them on friday whether or not they will be getting ipad 2 within the next couple weeks but the guy said the chances are VERY slim. He also said that even if they do get ipad 2's they only get one of each model.

The iPad 2 is definitely worth the $100. Although Apple claims graphics up to 9x faster, actual testing has shown around 5x faster on average. That's a huge difference from the iPad 1. If you do anything graphic intensive, or like games, you're going to want to pop for the iPad 2.

App developers are already releasing versions optimized to take advantage of the better graphics. Infinity Blade had a "quick update" and it looks and plays much better on the iPad 2. Imagine a title written to take advantage of all the iPad 2's graphics instead of an existing game getting a "refresh"?
