I read the first post and currently im on villian rom 3.0. Was just wondering how to update to the newest jelly bean. Scared i might brick my phone. If anyone has a guide it would be appreciated.

DAMN, VillainROM 3.0!

You completely skipped the ICS!

I recommend Neatrom XWLSD, (NOT XXMSI). Reason being, XXMSI is actually an older build than XWLSD, but for some reason Samsung released XXMSI after XWLSD.

After you downloaded Neatrom XWLSD onto your internal sd, just boot into Recovery then select "wipe data" and "wipe cache". Then go into "Mounts and Storage" and select format system, after you do this, select "Go Back". Then go into "Advanced" and select "Wipe Dalvik Cache". Then select "Go Back"

Now you "cleaned" your phone, you can finally flash the ROM. Just go to "Install zip from sd card" and navigate to where you stored your Neatrom-XWLSD.zip.

After this process is done. you can select "Go Back" and "Reboot Now"

Wait a couple minutes for the first boot.

If you get a "SIM UNLOCK PIN", DONT WORRY! Its like that for 3 S2's that I upgraded to JB for the first time. So you will likely get that too. Upgrading to JB for the first time locks your phone.

Just skip this screen and continue setting up the phone.

Go to the Play Store and download an app for "GalaxSimUnlock", it will probably cost you $2 or something like that but it works for sure. Just open GalaxSimUnlock, grant Root Access, then follow the screens to unlock you phone again. After this, reboot your phone.

Enjoy JB.

(you can uninstall GalaxSimUnlock)

Also, if you encounter any boot hangs (where the screen gets stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S2" logo), this is because of the stock Kernel that is in Neatrom. I recommend using Siyah Kernel, I haven't encountered this issue while using Siyah kernel.
