Does anyone know if the ice cream sandwich update is out for the S2 LTE (Rogers)?? And if it is out, has anyone upgraded to it?? Is it buggy??

So far for me no major problems. Really smooth and stable, battery life improves slightly.

Obviously some third party apps might FC because they need to be updated to support JB.

dyan 08-03-2012 10:58 PM

Been getting SHIT battery life on it. Getting like 6-9 hrs little to no usage

Did you wipe battery stats after a full charge?

I get about 12 hours but I guess it varies depending on screen brightness, haptic feedback, etc. I also have mine set to battery saving mode at 15% which lasted me 3 hours.

Is it stable enough for daily usage?

I don't have this problem... weird.

For me 3.0.1 is stable enough for daily usage. I don't have any of the problems that some people are posting on XDA.

Going to try 3.0.2 tonight.

gdoh 08-09-2012 07:00 PM

all it took was a couple of drinks to get my phone to work ahahah

Gh0stRider 08-09-2012 08:00 PM

gonna try rootbox2.1

Canadian Rider 08-09-2012 10:23 PM

I flashed PARANOIDANDROID rom yesterday and so far liking it. It's a Hybrid phone/phablet rom running CM10 and it looks amazing. So far no problems with it except for that CM10 does not support USB storage only MTP. And so far CM10's jellybean MTP does not support mac osx so I'm stuck using airdroid to transfer stuff between my computer and my phone.

Worth a shot if you're looking for something new though!

Well I finally did it. Since owning an SGS 1 when they first came out I've pretty much been flashing phones once every 1-3 months. Just a couple days ago I tried to go from the paranoidandroid rom back to stock bell ICS using odin. And my computer crashed halfway through the flash. Not sure if it was because I was using bootcamped WIN 8 or not but I got to try a few more times only my old Win7 PC but the flash failed every time it got to the factoryfs part. I ended up trying 3 different PC's and a couple different firmwares until finally no PC would even recognize my phone anymore. So back to Bell it went yesterday... hopefully I fucked it up so bad that they won't be able to tell it was flashed previously.

On that note looking to buy a Galaxy Nexus :)

Quick question, is there any way I could get my s2 international version to work with wind mobile network?

The international one will NOT work with Wind.

k00laid 08-27-2012 11:29 AM

can someone recommmend the best rom with jelly bean for s2? My gf is still on 2.x.x. lol and shes been having super shitty battery life. Was gonna try and help her upate it. Thanks

Canadian Rider 08-27-2012 04:10 PM

I know it's fun to play but from experience you don't really want to put your GF on a custom rom that isn't 100% stable. They tend to bitch if anything goes wrong :). I would just update her to the stock ICS rom. It's got really good battery life IMO.

!Yaminashi 08-27-2012 08:02 PM

If your gf has no idea what the words "root" "CWM" "kernel" and "rom" mean give her a official stock update.
