How do you find that compared to checkrom?

this is MUCH better than CyangogenMod 9, been playing around for a day or so. So much more snappier, and good battery life. No wonder it has been in development for almost a year now.

I would take this any day over ICS

i was having issues with checkrom6. not sure if it was from the kernel or the domination ics theme

my phone would go into a state that it wouldn't wake up. the phone was on, but the screen stayed black. i had to hold power to do a reset. it happened once a day.

i haven't had any issues with hyperdroid so far.

I was having the same problems, but it was only with the NEAK kernel

Kinda obvious on this one. CM7 is based on gingerbread which has been out so much longer than ICS so of course more time in development.

What ICS ROMs are you guys running on your s2? I've tried installing both CM9 and SlimICS on my uncle's and they keep getting random FCs

ATM I have Hydrogenics but I'll be trying out Resurrection Remix soon

Razor Ramon HG 03-25-2012 10:33 PM

I reflashed with all the proper steps such as wiping and formatting, and Litening 2.2 runs perfectly now.

Feels good coming from the stock Gingerbread, but the browser broke flash support..

Can you post up a small review of resurrection remix after you've used it a bit? I was looking at that one but couldn't find any solid reviews of it. I still love checkrom v4 with vertumus ics theme. Everything works seamlessly and I've never had force close with v4

Datsun 03-26-2012 12:12 AM

I'll try, lol. I'm still very new to all this...the main thing I'll be looking for is stability in the ring profiles , camcorder functionality and other small thins like ext SD being detected and USB transfer onto PC. Atm I have problems with all these, so I'm hoping it all gets fixed because resurrection looks pretty complete.

Which rom can beat 12 days and 13 hours ?

Thanks to all the developers and testers involved ! Shame on Samsung not able to produce such quality in regard of the device price !

If interested the setup was like this :
- mostly 2G
- PhoneWeaver to turn off radio at night
- Almost nothing running in the background

My goal was simply to prove this could be achieved, even if MOST people won't find that setup practical.

Holy shit.. but he was mostly on 2G anyways..

Still waiting for CheckROM to develop an ICS rom as their ROM's are pretty good.

!MiKrofT 03-26-2012 10:47 AM

Its cause he was on 2g with next to no screen time and radio off for at least 8 hours a day. He didnt use his phone.

Anyone else have that russian crap in theor play store???

If so dont download!

shenmecar 03-26-2012 05:04 PM

yeah wtf, play store keep asking me to "Update" some MTS russian app. I read the reviews and EVERYONE left a note along the lines of "DO NOT DOWNLOAD FOR THE LOVE OF GOD"

Why are S2s getting this!?!?!?!

Rated-Z 03-26-2012 07:13 PM

I got it this morning too. Was just looking it up and found this

Google Play Store bug scares Samsung owners with Russian email app | firstdroid.com

Apparently it's not viral and was just a case of mistaken app identifier?? Even if that's true, I don't get why the Play Store would allow two apps to use the same identifier in the first place??

ya that was a good read....I used Titanium backup in the early AM to disable the file to get it off my play store....

needless to say that something so simple to do could have screwed so many people over if it actually was a bad file...

it was odd to see who got it and who did not...I know 5 people with an S2 and I was the only one to get it...

!Yaminashi 03-26-2012 08:10 PM

Anyone able to find a download link for resurrection remix 9.6? They released a new 1.0 PRO version but from what I read its still a little buggy. 9.6 seems to be the best but I cant find a download link anymore

Simplex123 03-26-2012 10:56 PM

^ I just flashed the Pro 1.0 on my uncle's S2 and it seems to be running fine. What are the bugs on the pro version? I read on galaxys2root that it's because the official XXLPQ itself has bugs and that is what they are using. But what are they specifically?

Anywho here is the link for 9.6 (not sure if it works though I haven't tried): Download GalaxyS2/roms/ResurrectionICSROM/9.6 at DownloadAndroidROM.com

shenmecar 03-26-2012 11:18 PM

I think Play Store did a fix, it no longer shows up on in the "My Apps - Installed" section asking me to update it. However, it still shows up in the "My Apps - All" section. Titanium backup doesnt seem to show it as installed on my phone though.

Simplex123 03-26-2012 11:19 PM

Found a list of removable APKs for the S2 on XDA.

Razor Ramon HG 03-27-2012 04:16 AM

Quick question. What does changing the modem do for my phone?

Datsun 03-27-2012 04:18 AM

Decreases battery usage searching for signal or something like that. Check your batt usage chart, the best situation would have green bars.
