Do you think the wet look is due to the RGB?

I say it has to do with the gorilla glass.

!Yaminashi 05-29-2012 06:44 PM

Ah good point. The oleophobic coating on the nexus has a different look to it

Im giving this ROM a try, the Pure Look S3

♣♥[ROM][XWLPG]Pure Look S3 "Design by Nature"[v3.1.1 Final][Jkay v14.0][06/06/2012]♣ - xda-developers

first impressions are good. So far I haven't had any problems.

Quick question though: How do you guys back up your contacts when you switch ROMs?

dyan 06-07-2012 12:23 AM

^

I just save all my contacts to SIM. Don't usually add emails and such

shenmecar 06-07-2012 12:24 AM

Ahh, thats one way, but you cant save multiple numbers under 1 name when you save to sim

dyan 06-07-2012 12:29 AM

Yeah thats the bad part.. I usually only keep cell numbers, but for special cases might rename as
_______ home/work/etc.

That's the most convenient way I find without having to backup contacts, restore them.

Razor Ramon HG 06-07-2012 12:59 AM

Sync with Gmail

cctw 06-07-2012 01:37 AM

^+1...that's the best way i think

parm104 06-07-2012 04:05 AM

Google Sync is almost a MUST. Saving your contacts to a sim for a smart phone is kind of backwards thinking. There sim memory is so limited and usually all your contacts won't be saved on there and you won't have detailed information.

Using Google Sync, you simply add your gmail account and allow it to sync your contacts in Settings/Accounts. This is great because you can view your contacts online if you need to, edit them online if you need to, the pictures save when you sync them, and if you lose your phone or it gets stolen or you simply upgrade a rom or switch phones, you can update and add your contacts with a click of a button.

Best part is, you can sync ur contacts on almost any phone. Windows Mobile, Android, iPhone or Blackberry. I use 2/3 different phones, sometimes I let one charge and use the other while it's charging...and if I add a phone number to edit a number in one phone, it changes and updates the information on all of them. SO SEEMPLE!

question about google sync, how do u make it NOT sync the emails though? i dont want ppls email address on my phone

parm104 06-07-2012 03:29 PM

Same thing, settings/accounts, and then you can chose what aspect you want to sync.

ie: calender, contacts, emails

Do you guys think that we will end up getting a fully-functional S3 port for the S2?

what else is in the S3 that isnt already leaked?

Flipboard - check
S Voice - check
Touchwiz UX - check

I didn't realize S-Voice was leaked. I hadn't seen it in any of my searches as of yet. I'll check again.

Simplex123 06-08-2012 09:57 AM

S-Voice was like the first thing to be leaked!

There's also BLN

achiam 06-10-2012 06:42 PM

Hi all, I'm running the blue/black Omega ICS rom, and the stupid flashlight back LED turns on sometimes. As well, the volume down + power no longer does screenshot. The LED flashligh turns off when I press the keys in random combination, and I was thinking the hot key assignment was altered. Does anyone know how to program the hot keys? (i think that's what its called?) Thanks!

Theres barely any more support for BLN now in the new ICS roms, which is strange. I find BLN essential to the sgs2!
