Is there an easy way to mod my status bar? I'm using Litening ROM ([ROM] Lite'ning Rom v2.3 XWLP2 - Fast as Lightning - xda-developers), but I want to mod it so it looks like ICS Domination.

I tried to install ICS Domination over Litening ROM, but it ended up fucking my home screen so I had to reinstall.

Is CheckROM still a highly recommended ROM? Or are the custom ICS roms available better?

By status bar you mean the notification bar with the toggles?
People have been praising ICS resurrection lately and it really is a clean and smooth ROM

I wish I knew what the bugs were. I tried searching for some reviews of the pro 1.0 version but didn't find much.

I think it really depends. For me checkroom has been really reliable. I've never had one issue, no force closes and the ICS domination theme you can flash over checkrom is pretty damn close to what real ICS looks like.

I'm gonna try flashing resurrection remix when I get the chance but if there's bugs I'm going back to checkrom

Different radios have different tweaks. OEM's update these every so often to balance reception/battery/network features/usage. However the only way to find the best is trial and error.

I've skimmed 40 pages (3 days) of the Pro 1.0 thread on XDA and basically the only problem that is being mentioned on EVERY page is that there is no CWM included in the ROM because they are using a stock kernel. Can't believe the guys at XDA are nice enough to answer it 10 times a day without getting pissed off lol

An actual bug that is being reported is that some of the options have a dark background with black font but so far I've only seen it in the ES File Browser which is acceptable. Another thing is that Chrome/Browser crashes sometimes. So I just installed Dolphin Browser and it's been working fine. Everything else is quick and smooth.

Are you using the pro edition as well? Or do you just mean on your uncles phone?

Yes it is my uncle's phone. He dropped it off so I can flash ICS on it. I flashed pro 1.0 last night and have been playing with it since. I still have it right now. No major problems, just the ones I mentioned before

I flashed to CheckROM and I think I will stay on GB until ICS becomes a little more stable.

Are all the current ICS ROMs built upon the released sources, and not an actual ICS ROM?

As far as I know Samsung hasn't released any sources yet. But I've heard a lot of good things about resurrection remix

I believe sources are out for the Galaxy S2. Samsung released them a couple weeks back.

If you guys are looking for a good ICS rom, resurrection remix 9.6 is pretty sick.
No force closes and its super snappy. I'll keep updating as I use it more

How's the battery life for that rom?

I'm not too sure about battery life, but I ended up going back to checkromV4. There were a few little bugs in resurrection that I didnt like.

The main bug being that randomly when I would turn the screen off, it would flicker again right after the CRT off animation. Its a small bug, but super annoying and it would happen randomly.

For me checkrom has still been the best so far, even though ICS is cool, there arent that many features that you absolutely must have

Waiting on Checkrom or somthing similar to have better ICS.

In the mean time trying stock LP3.. see how it goes!

But right now stock is smooth enough with great battery life..

Yeah if its true Samsung released source codes recently then hopefully the checkrom team is working on a new rom.
As soon as they have one I'm flashing. V4 just feels so refined its hard to find anything that's at the same level. Really looking forward to their ICS roms.

If you guys really want ics try the resurrection remix out. Good stable rom but I think it still needs some work to fine tune things

I just installed Litening and it's crashing left and right. Panoramic camera doesn't work, just freezes everytime. Don't bother with this yet. What's a good one to use now? I want something that's good on the battery.

Going to try CheckROM v6 on a typical school day tomorrow.

I'm running lightning 2.1 don't have that feature

Simplex, does pro edition 1.0 have the screen flicker bug from resurrection 9.6 that I mentioned earlier?
And are you able to silence the camera shutter sounds? Those are the two biggest reasons I went back to checkrom

By ficker you mean when you press the power button the screen will go off and then come back on for a second? Don't think that has ever happened to me. As for the camera I thought you could turn off all Android camera sounds when you turn down the volume. Maybe it's not true for the s2. I didn't like the Samsung camera soon anyways so I installed an AOSP camera for my uncle that was linked in the resurrection pro thread'a first few posts. You can always switch to camera zoom fx as well. It has a lot more functions than the stock android camera apps.
