The Message app only switches to iMessage when the other end uses iOS5. Otherwise it sends out SMS. Also you can disable iMessage in Setting > Message.

Yes I'm aware of how it works.

I guess what I'm saying is, it would be nice if we were given the OPTION to send as SMS or iMessage regardless if the other user has iOS5 or not.

I have a feeling such a feature will be implemented in the future.

I wish texting and imessage were two different apps lol

^Agreed. They need to make it like all the other apps with a contact list of users who have iMessage, profile pics, statuses, etc.

That's the only way I can see people getting hyped about it and seeing it as a viable alternative to BBM.

By integrating it with messages it becomes totally transparent.

Does anyone know how newsstand is going to work? Does it keep all the out suscriptions that you've already paid for?

When I press the app it says "you can download magazines and newspapers from th app store."
And you can't connect to app store yet. So I'm guessing it's like iBooks but it update your virtual newspaper and magazines daily? Hmm pretty neat.

The pricing will all depend how quickly stores restocks in Canada, UK, Australia or anywhere else in the world that sells unlocked phones on the 14th.

anyone on ios5? when i click on the itunes app on my iphone, i don't have the "purchased" tab

yup i noticed its missing too. then i googled it and found out we dont have it yet.
a lot of the ios 5 features are missing in the gm version. twitter integration, camera app on lock screen, editing after taking a pic etc.

Twitter integration is in. Has been since beta 1.

Same with camera on the lock screen. You have to double tap the home button before the camera button comes up.

To edit a pic you have to go to the photo app.

All of the iOS5 features are already on the GM version. iTunes wireless sync, iMessage etc etc. I'm not sure about iCloud though, but I think that's up as well. All but Newsstand:fuckthatshit:.

anybody's home button unresponsive? my button started being unresponsive soon after the warranty expire. Anybody successfully got it swap out at the apple store?

i got a new iphone after the home button stopped working at the oakridge apple store even after the warranty expired. it costs $200sth to replace if you dont have warranty lol

just try and get to replace it for free. be nice about it and stuff and just charm your way into a free one. if it doesn't work, try another apple store or something.

If you are within 1 month AFTER of your warranty, usually they will give you a free one

Nah I don't suggest doing it yourself. It's a bitch getting to the front of the phone and your home button doesn't work because it's sunk. Like Dan said just try to charm your way into getting a new one. "my friend got his replaced here though even after warranty"
