Time to move to Calgary, I don’t even think about this shit anymore so much space lol… though the biggest frustration here is people who full stop on yield signs when nobody is around, it’s an epidemic of that here and I have no idea where it comes from.

Some old lady at Costco yesterday was like “I thought it wouldn’t be busy if I came on a work day” and I was like “I just moved here from BC, trust me this is nothing” and she said “I’ve heard stories about Costco there, I saw videos of the one in Richmond with people fighting! Does that happen a lot?” hahahaha ah-mo stories even made their way over to oldies here.

Willingdon, Brighton, and even downtown I think are the best options in the lower mainland in terms of busy-ness and parking

Surrey, Richmond, Langley seem to be wayyy worse. Albeit I never ever go to Willingdon on the weekends

brighton is our go to... just show up 30m before close and you're golden. traffic in and out is also one of the better ones at that hour. i refuse to go to the surrey one even if it's closer as the crow flies. traffic is worse, the store is busier, and it just takes me way longer to complete my trip overall.

Brighton is getting some work done to the parkade to create new traffic lanes. It's a giant cluster right now.

The downtown Vancouver location for Costco is meh in terms of parking.

First, the underground parking lot charges $2 for two hours of parking. No free parking.

Second, the parking lot is smaller compared to other locations like Willingdon.

I don't like the DT Costco, a lot of my friends who live closer to it avoid it and go to Richmond or Still Creek.

Richmond is a lot better since they introduced scanners. Shows how many ppl were borrowing memberships or just trying to sneak in. Zero problems finding parking on a weekday afternoon or weekend mornings, minimal lineups for paying.

Still Creek will always be busy as it has one of the biggest catchments in the area.

Brighton parking lot is a cluster. I don't know what they are doing to it and it's way too far anyways for me.

Damn, to hate it that much to do a 40 min round trip just to avoid it. I hit the DT one sometimes because I work in Olympic Village but I'll go right when they open a quick in and out. Yes, I do imagine it would be brutal if you go at other times but I don't know I'd ever go out of my way to hit another one.

Meanwhile I purposefully go to DT Costco on purpose to avoid the chaos in Richmond, even though I drive right by it on my commute every day...

DT Costco might charge $2 parking, but its covered parking is always empty in Level 2 on non-game days. Beats fighting for parking in Level 1 imo.

I went to Still Creek a few evenings ago for their garden center, and that parking lot is almost as chaotic as Richmond.

Still Creek has wider lanes, so you can actually squeeze 3 cars through some of the lanes, but it has gotten a lot busier since I started going to Costco 10 years ago.

Just go to Richmond man, their traffic is literally down like 30% easy. If you park in the area closer to the Holiday Inn, there's almost ALWAYS parking without waiting and minimal walk. The only thing is the Richmond warehouse is marginally smaller than the Still Creek one.

2$ parking?!?!?? The horror! Proceeds to buy 200-400$ worth of groceries.......

I wouldnt wish my worst enemy going to richmond costco on a weekend afternoon with sample stations at the end of every aisle.

I hope the new costco in south surrey and new west will alleviate some traffic.

Ford should give him a Ford GT, or at least a GT350 + Ford Lightning combo.

Or make him a new Popemobile using the Lightning.

P2 downtown is always completely empty when I go there

I used to park and charge my EV for free at Parq Casino. Then, heaven forbid, walk to the DT Costco. Fast forward to now. Half the EV chargers are broken and they require you to play slots or whatever. If I need a part from Miele, I'll do it, but the DT Costco just has the wrong vibe, somehow. Maybe not enough asians there to make me feel.............. wait, there are asians everywhere. Every fucking nook and cranny............. 'cept where I live. Many Eyetalians. One of the neighbour's daughter in law. Mama Mia! Song by the Vapors, ......... refresh......... Turning Italian.

I miss the good ol' days. When asians weren't everywhere. When I moved to the Valley, it was great. We were invited over to dinners and BBQ's. White suburbia. There's 5 people in line trying to get into the parking lot behind you and your stupid ass decides to choose the 1st spot among many later in the garage to do your slow ass back-in into the spot?

Either drive forward into the spot quickly, or choose another fucking spot to take 5 minutes backing in.

It's the epitome of main character syndrome, one should be embarrassed doing that shit.

Those kinds of drivers should just take public transit.

^ never heard the term but by context, it sounds like a Chinese driver who takes forever, driving their big ass SUV's back and forth while they are parking to get it into a spot ... very slowly and methodically.

The Chinese Reservation is even worse in terms of parking etiquette.
