Might be a blessing in disguise for him really, many will just choose UBC over SFU and all just for the name, even if it means to be in a faculty they don't wanna be in.

If he plans to do grad school and finishes grad school, it won't matter where he went for undergrad but it'll be slightly harder for admissions if its at UBC.

Another thing is that him getting rejected can give him motivation to do good at SFU so he can maintain a high GPA if he does decide to switch over. I didn't make UBC just out of grade 12, so I knew I had to do good wherever I was.

Only main problem really is about "face" I guess for himself and his parents?

Just transferred over from sfu and going to ubc this fall, anyone know a good choice for the literature requirement?

I heard that some clst courses are easy.

Does anyone know if I can register for a class and drop it, after taking my uPass, and keep the uPass? Everyone is selling their uPass for $90+ now for some reason. Sure it's worth more, but we pay $35 for it and I don't see the point of marking it up more than 200%, even to make some money.

Is it $90 for a upass now? That reminds me to pick up my upass, that I won't be using, tomorrow.
