yeah.], don't worry about sounding like a noob. a lot of people don't know this. don't use a barbell for a week. drop either intensity or volume. if you're breaking now PRs every session, your body gets burnt out. you deload every 4th to 6th week to let your body recover so you don't get overtrained.

i also focus on myofascial release with a pvc pipe. also a good time to try out new exercises that you want to incorporate.

here's a more in-depth article

http://www.elitefts.com/documents/deload.htm

i'm deloading next week. deadlifted 355 raw for 2 solid reps today for a new PR. felt good. @170 lbs. i'm coming after you sas.

Would doing this substitute taking a week off? I was told its good to take a week off every 6 weeks?

Anyway had an awesome shoulder day today, I used to absolutely hate doing shoulders but now I'd put it right beside doing back.
Definitely gonna feel it tomorrow

i would say that yes, you could deload instead of taking a week off. i havent taken more than 4 days in a row off in over a year and a half. i dont even plan a 'deload' week like "ok 2 more weeks to deload week". they just sort of happen (things come up, feeling lazy, sick, etc).

yeah i dont really need a deload week or w/e, i always give myself time to recover and i recover quick, i sleep and eat right to the T so i am not to worried about that, if u asked people 2-3 years they would say , im not saying its a bad thing, i rather take a week off and play tennis or squash or swim or summin, not weights tho

Pecs work as a group, just keep hitting them from all angles and they'll grow

yes to what skinny says

but high incline shoulders press actually works quite well for the upper part of chest, incline flys, squeezing your inner triceps into your top part of your chest on flys helps, cable flys at the end of a workout

I've heard that decline exercises for chest aren't necessary or as vital as flat/incline?

Been hitting 1MR lately, feels so unnatural, like i just bucked a rail before the gym. Ifind myself more agitated and impatient on it. Now on to the positives: my lifts are up like crazy(lifts i would only expect 3 or 4 reps are now 10-12 reps) my shortest workout has been 90 minutes. Even after doing a solid workout my energy is still up, i wanna go for a run! One question tho, this stuff has craaazy amounts of caffeine, taurine, guarana, and other stimulants...isn't this putting a ridiculous amount of stress on your heart? i just know a few people who have ruined their hearts from the use of stimulant drugs.

is it possible that if you are heavily caffeinated throughout the day, use of a pre-workout drink won't help much ?

i only ask this because I am a twice a day red rave + quad espresso + latte drinker that drinks a pre-workout drink and i don't feel much
