More like all you need is food and the rest of it is a waste of money Fish oil and vitamins would be useful if you're barely eating fruits or veggies.. Pre workout gets you going if you're tired, when you're feeling good it doesn't do much And as for protein I don't see how you wouldn't get enough anyways Posted via RS Mobile |
Protein, creatine, and a good diet. Walk into a supplement store and the sales rep will try to jam all sorts of crap down your throat. Lots of supplements are useless, and some may help but the cost isn't worth the benefit. Don't buy into that shit. What works is generally what's been around for a long time. |
do weightlifting shoes make that big of a difference? never tried them but for me, converse>no shoes>all others |
Probably not worth the money. Anything with a flat, thin sole is fine..like your Converses. |
tried my friends on, and they are 100% worth it. if you are serious about power/olympic lifting that is |

Creatine is the only supplement that works, it is not a waste of money. Spoiler! |

Did some googling. I think I now get the joke. I subscribe to this guy's youtube channel: Anyone else recommend some good channels? |
did some reverse band deadlifts 480 x 3 480 reverse band deadlift - YouTube and 500 x 1 500 reverse band deadlift - YouTube |
Well for creatine, there are responders and nonresponders, some people benefit greatly from it while some don't benefit as much... It's cus some guys naturally have high PCR levels so it won't make much of a difference And I wouldn't necessarily say protein is useless... For some of us guys who can't afford to get a truckload of meat, protein will help with meeting the protein requirements. Same with creatine, there will be days when you don't feel like cooking full meals, and this is when the supplements come in handy. imo: carb loading, creatine, whey protein, fish oil, multivitamins are very useful if you are engaged in exercise that puts a heavy demand on your body's substrate supply |

The channels I learn the most from: supertraining06, donnie thompson, sanfranciscocrossfit (mobility stuff) and clintdarden. I also follow all the bro fitness channels that've already been listed. |
Tuan tran is a beast hands down. Probably one of the strongest guys on youtube, pound for pound. Posted via RS Mobile |
He's a beast no doubt, but strongest on youtube... not even close. There are some mind blowingly strong people on there. |
I've also been watching Alexander Kang. Pretty strong powerlifter for a 147 lb guy You can see him wandering around in the background of some of Frank Yang's videos And also, Strongman Zack Ya, I've known of Frank Yang since the early days of Xanga hahaha. Does some pretty stupid shit, but some of his advice is good. |
Found this pretty useful to gauge roughly where I am in each major exercise Weightlifting Performance Standards |
