I got the $40 plan and can tether to my laptop with no extra charge. I get the unlimited plan. Everything is unlimited. I love it. Just waiting for the S3 to come down in price before I go for it.

Posted via RS Mobile | Ah that could be it you know~ sometimes the connection speed is dependent on the speed of the phone. See if you can swap your sim into a S3 and redo the speed test! I had friends with the Nexus S that were on mobolicity and it wasn't that good at all. Not sure if it applies to the Nexus, but the S3 is the newest and fastest.

The best data speed I got so far on my S3 was 8.76 mbps down, 1.13 mbps up, 54 ms ping. This was in the East Richmond area.

The current plans don't include picture messaging. It's $0.20 each mms

No.
Though quite frankly, once you switch to an unlimited data plan, MMS becomes kind of...pointless.

Guys, what to do what to do!!
rogers offer to extend all my discounts so my plan is 350mins, ulm 6pm, CID/VM, Rogers to Rogers, for 27$... Plus, for $35 Galaxy S3, providing i go on a Flex data plan 100MB for $10 minimum.
My plan in the end is $32.15 plus tax, in 3 year, that is 1295$ + $35 GS3 = 1330$.
Versus Wind 29$ plan in 3 years : 1169$ + 449$ plus HST for GS3 windtab + $133 rogers ECF = $1806
So Wind is about $450 more than Rogers offer me in 3 year although I only get 100mb data. I have never had data plan, and only plan to use social media and email and occassion google ... I have wifi at work and everything else.
What should I do,, walk back to rogers,?? I was already on my way to Wind this evening and found out Rogers will charge me $133 after tax for ECF..

On an android phone, it's honestly very hard to use only 100MB of Data. Even when you're just surfing RS or the news, new mobile sites are now more multimedia than ever--larger pictures, etc etc. Chat programs as well will use data.
I've been going pretty light on data while I'm out (no video streaming, just news, RS, and chat stuffs) and I've hit 451MB in the last three weeks.

You will use way over 100MB, realistically, with regular surfing and texting, and the occasional video streaming. You're looking at, at least 500MB of data per month with a S3. It will undoubtedly push you over $40 per month with Rogers for your plan.
IMHO, flex data plan is stupid and is a scam to trick your average consumer.
rogers offer to extend all my discounts so my plan is 350mins, ulm 6pm, CID/VM, Rogers to Rogers, for 27$... So $27 per month for your basic voice plan
500mb of flex data is another $25 on top of your voice plan.. so you're paying $52/month, how is that a deal?

So basically, its $42.13 plus tax for plan with 500mb data, over 3 years, it will be about $80 cheaper than wind, except for 3 years, I have 500mb instead of unlimited data, also she said its faster data.... ya, whatever i ask, she has a comeback for that......

How is it $42.13?
You're paying $27 for voice, and another $20 for data ($5 discount applied), that's $47.
$47 x 3 years is $1692
$35 Galaxy 3
=$1727 subtotal
$29 x 3 years is $1044
$449 S3
$133 ECF
=1626
$100 difference. I guess it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. If you feel the plan that Rogers is offering you is suffice, then stick with that.

One of the reasons I felt secure switching to wind is that I never have to worry about uncertainty when it comes to how much I'm gonna owe. That was one thing that always annoyed me with Rogers. Go over my minutes or texts, extra charges. And the Roaming in the states. Yeesh. A week in New York got me hugely in overage fees.
But like Willystyle says, as long as you don't go over those limits, you should basically be at about the same prices. One of the reasons I liked Wind though was that I got grandfathered--seems like you're lucky to be being offered a decent retentions plan, but that's only good for 3 years really. I like knowing I'll only pay $30/mo for the rest of the time I own my cell.

I love how people ask that question without telling us where they are. 'Cause, you know, the reception all over is totally exactly the same. Everywhere. No matter where you live.

My personal experience is good; downtown is covered. I get some small dead zones in the following locations:
-All underground skytrain stations
-the middle of DT costco
-the west end of the Harbour centre food court
-the west end of the waterfront centre food court
And that's about it.
