ok if you are already unlocked and rooted, just flash a modem through Clockwork mod.

-download the correct modem. (EG: blaze 4G) HERE and put it on your SD card AS IS. DO NOT UNZIP IT.
-turn off phone.
-hold volume + AND - together, then power on. Keep holding the vol buttons till you see blue text. this gets you into Clockwork mod (CWM).
-choose "instal zip from SD card"
-use vol buttons to move selection up and down till you find the file you downloaded.
-click power button to choose it. then click yes.
-let it run. when its done, click reboot device.
-it may take a few minutes to acquire a signal, be patient.

if after 5 min it doesn't get signal, you may be in a dead zone, so try going to settings, more, mobile networks, network operators, search for operators. Choose "manual"

let it search and it should give you a handfull of networks. the one you want is "302320" or it might actually say "mobilicity", you should also see "Wind". if not, you have the wrong modem. download another and stry yth whole thing again.

if you DO see the right one, select it and you're done.

I recommend trying ALL the modems and see which gives the best performance.

i tried opening the modem files on cwm..but it says invalid. Do i have to unzipped them before i transfer to sd?im using mac btw..i haven't tried on windows yet

Everything stays zipped. You want to be flashing zip files not extracted files.

yup, saw this as well. really tempting :tears:. but, i am waiting for the note 2 and see if its good enough to purchase.

yes, sorry i neglected to mention this. just copy the modem zip file directly to your SD card or phone. then in CWM, just navigate to it and select the zip file. mac or PC doesnt matter. all the magic happens on the phone.

to be honest, i would wait for GN2 as well. the reception of AWS is very poor on this phone (GN1). or go for an official T-Mobile unit.

yup, lots of rumours about the GN2 to be revealed sometime in August. hopefully, it will live up to the hype.

I went to that rootgalaxynote website and downloaded and flashed that t989 tmobile 4g file and now my phone shows that it the imei number is null/null and I cannot gat any signal at all. I tried going back to wipe and reset but still no luck.. can you guys help me? I think its bricked now..

when you try to select a carrier, what does it do? just gives error?

make a backup in clockwork mod first. should take around 10 minutes. then re flash your rom (if using a custom rom), then flash the modem right after. don't restart in between. then reboot.

make sure to factor wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (in advanced settings) before flashing.

by the model # yes, however i have no clue what B stock means exactly. cosmetic defect? dead pixel?

still, unlocked and $100 less than the next cheapest price is pretty fucking good.

email them, i have no idea, all i can say is that they are not grade A phones. there has to be something wrong or repaired. most likely cosmetic blemish, but fully functional.

however, beware the warranty or lack therof.

Depends on what's important to you.

If i could do it over again I would pick the S3 due to the overwhelming support on XDA in terms of rom development. The Note developers have moved to the S3 leaving a handful of developers left.

If you don't want to root, then i would go with the best, which is the s3.

If you want screen size, writing, drawing, then the note is a no brainer, or even the note 2. Rumor has it, it may be a quad core lte capable chip.
