Question regarding the NOTE

the I717 is the NonAWS version while the T879 is the AWS version.. can the T879 be bought overseas or ONLY from TMobile? the N7000 is the international version but doesnt support AWS, I know there is a hack to get it to work but heard the reception isnt as good...

Simplex123 09-01-2012 10:10 AM

The hack is for i717 and not the N7000 I believe. TurboE's Note was an i717 on Mobilicity.

FerrariEnzo 09-01-2012 01:59 PM

you could be right,

Note I717
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100

So the hack is to get the LTE band working, which would make sense for it to work on Wind/Mobi..

So is there a hack for any LTE phones that has 1700 to work on Wind/Mobi?

i717 (all canadaian versions EG: i717R etc) can be modded to work on Mobi (yes i have done this.), but you can buy the T-Mobile version. its better all around. works on Wind fine too.

Anyone know decent place to get screen replaced. Dropped from 1 foot up and cracked screen. Fml

sick and tired of my n7000

im still on gingerbread and i check for updates every now and then to ICS but always "update not available". Don't want to do it the unconventional way.

What gives???

Thinking this would make a great travel phone if I unlocked all the bands. Does the mod make the phone pentaband? Or just one or the other?

PHATFLIP_14 09-25-2012 09:08 PM

isnt the galaxy note i717 available in canadagsm the pentaband version? sorry for the noob question...which carriers will this work here in Canada and US?

!MiKrofT 09-25-2012 09:50 PM

I think they pre mod it for you. It'll work on all major carriers here including wind and mobilicity.

canadagsm sells them ready out of the box. Of course the box has to be opened.

unlocked and ready to go on ANY carrier, well not public mobile i guess. Don't forget you still have the option of using LTE :D

I'm on Wind now, I hit 6Mbps down this morning and 1 Mbps up.

Wifi reception kinda sucks tho.

Well the Note 2 isn't quite out yet so I don't expect the Note 1 to drop yet. I've been seeing anywhere from $350 up to $500. I'll wait until the price drops since this isn't going to be my primary phone. It'll just be for travel/gps/ebooks probably.

anyone tried any of the jellybean roms for the i717/n7000?

or can recommend a good ics rom, the stock international ics rom is really laggy for me atm...

thanks in advance

Psykopathik 10-04-2012 08:32 AM

^^well for which phone? you listed two.

anyway, i'm running flapjaxxx AOSPxXx rom.its a JB one. pretty good and only 200 MB footprint. i like the no frills roms.

find it at rootdev.org. updates almost weekly

ninjai123 10-04-2012 04:31 PM

^^^ go get the pandawan rom its probably one of the best ICS roms and battery efficient as well

!MiKrofT 10-04-2012 08:15 PM

is there a way to re-flash without losing all your stuff and apps?

my stock ics rom is just way too slow time to try jellybean

!MiKrofT 10-05-2012 10:20 PM

If you're rooted you can use titanium backup to backup and restore your apps. Best purchase I've ever made.

ninjai123 10-06-2012 09:34 PM

or you can also try app2zip as well :D

areyez 10-11-2012 12:53 PM
