Whoever decided to demote Maldonaldo 3 places to stick him next to Ol' Hammy deserves an award. Tomorrow will be TV gold.

I really hope Maldonado takes out Alonso lol

Fuck that I hope he brakes to early and Hamilton smokes him! Haha! The bad blood those two have since Valencia would make tv Gold!

Go Kimi!

StylinRed 09-01-2012 07:26 PM

I was expecting Hamilton to get a penalty for that little stunt coming out of the pit

was also hoping Maldonado would take out the top ten @ the first corner but now that he's been pushed back hopefully he just takes out Hamilton :D

shame about Mercedes I was really hoping they would excel after the break but it looks like the exact opposite!

surprised that this is the 1st pole for Button with Mclaren too

c3m 09-02-2012 12:01 AM

Wondering why there are all these dislike/hate on Hamilton?

I think Kobayashi is the first Japanese F1 driver to ever start on the front row

StylinRed 09-02-2012 01:03 AM

yeah Koba is they mentioned it in the interviews after qualifying and everyone was surprised including Koba ;)

as for Hamilton there's multiple reasons; he's a baby, a liar, a sellout

Noran 09-02-2012 01:20 AM

Best top 5 ever.

Ever.

Takuma Sato qualified 2nd in 2004 for the European Grand Prix.

Alonsos 'Drivers quotes' from the F1 page

Quote:

Fernando Alonso (DNF)

I’m fine, except my left shoulder hurts a bit: I went to the medical centre immediately after the accident but everything is alright, the pain only comes from the whiplash. I had no idea what happened: I had overtaken the two Saubers when I felt as though I had been run into by a train! Immediately after the impact, I stayed in the cockpit for a few seconds, but then there was the start of a fire and the foam from the extinguishers meant I couldn’t breathe. I tried to tell the team on the radio that I was alright, but I couldn’t. Now I can say that, given the misfortune of having had an accident like this, I am lucky to be able to get back in the car in just a few days. The level of safety of these cars is very high and today we saw further proof of that. I am not angry with Grosjean, he definitely didn’t do it on purpose: it was a case of me being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Rather, I think that certain drivers should try and take fewer risks at the start: it’s a bit of a tendency currently in the junior formulae, but it would be better, if right from the start of their career, they got used to respecting more strictly the rules relating to behaviour on track. What happened is a shame, because I think a podium was indeed within my reach, especially when you see what Felipe demonstrated on track. Today we paid a high price through bad luck and luck owes us now: let’s see what happens in the rest of the season. We lost a bit of the advantage we had over Vettel, Webber and Raikkonen, but we have lost nothing to Hamilton who, given how the McLaren went, is possibly our most dangerous rival. Now we go to Monza, Ferrari’s home race: traditionally the Reds are always strong there, so let’s hope we can have a nice weekend and give our fans something to cheer about, making up some of the advantage we lost today.

Grosjean was handed a 1 race ban + €50,000.00 so are we going to see the chinese driver next week? I dont think lotus should be allowed to run a replacement though a ban should count for the team as well

ExoticSupercars 09-02-2012 10:57 AM

Apparently d'Ambrosio will be the replacement.

mb_ 09-02-2012 11:11 AM

Surprised Maldonado didn't cause the accident. LOL.

Noran 09-02-2012 01:45 PM

Adding spoiler for pics/gifs.

HonestTea 09-02-2012 02:47 PM

CONGRATS TO JENSON BUTTON! Amazing drive and ABSOLUTELY flawless! Hope he carries that momentum over to Monza! But hes still like 3 race wins away..FUCK! lol

Maldonado wow.. lol really hope hes the next person to get a one-race ban, that guy never learns, was just shaking my head when I saw the jump start...

Grosjean vs. Hamilton, it was clearly Grosjean at fault, probably the right call to fine him 50k euros and give him a one-race ban. I thought Hamilton was gonna try to knock him out when the crash happened LOL even though I'm not a big fan of Alonso, I'm glad hes not seriously hurt, looked pretty bad! Although I'm glad he got a DNF, so the other drivers can catch up to in the drivers standings :)

Pretty good race overall, love that overtake that Vettel did on Webber at the last corner heading into the pits, along with Vettel on Senna, same spot. Probably the most ballsy one was Kimi on Schumi near Eau Rouge I think?

NEXT WEEK MONZA!

Regarding Hamilton, hes a really exciting driver but the shit he does and says is mind-boggling lol like his twitter blasts recently about the new wing and posting up TEAM telemetry data on his personal twitter account
