I don't. Massa is lucky if he gets 2-3 more races in Ferrari if Perez keeps up what he's doing. Word is Perez is in line for Massas seat, although with how well the Williams is doing now, and with the tire wear issues Ferrari has it may actually be wise to stick it out in the Sauber.

StylinRed 03-25-2012 12:44 PM

oh come on the guy took a spring to the head and hasn't been the same ever since

and he really isnt that far behind Alonso in the times (he's like 2/10th of a second behind him)

and now they're talking about embarrassingly removing him during the season

gotta feel for him :(

falcon 03-25-2012 02:52 PM

Yeah it sucks, sure. But his pace is just not where it needs to be to compete at this level. I'd rather see someone like Hulkenberg get a chance to drive the Ferrari over the Force India car. They should give a few young guns a race or two in a real car to see how they match up once given the chance.

And last time I checked he got lapped this race. To me, even if you're 2/10ths back in quali, it doesn't matter if you can't preform during the race.

If Perez gets the seat I can see Ferrari having a shot at the constructors champ.

McLaren's new pit stop lighting system is pretty trick, but they are still averaging 3.5 - 4.0 secs. Meanwhile Ferrari has got pitstops down to around 3.0 secs which is going to be huge for them in 2012 assuming other teams can't match.

HonestTea 03-25-2012 04:27 PM

Who would've thunk it? Alonso winning at Sepang lol I have a feeling Perez might join Ferrari but I don't think he should...the 2nd seat at Ferrari is probably one of the least sought after seats IMO..you have to bet Ferrari are 110% behind Alonso and I really doubt the 2nd seat will get equal treatment, especially when Santander invested millions of dollars to get Alonso on board..

Ferrari's 2nd seat = Alonso's lap dog, unless someone can absolutely out drive Alonso..which is highly highly unlikely.

By the looks of yesterday, Perez can outdrive Alonso. Just in a different car.

Z3guy 03-26-2012 08:02 AM

^ one decent race for Perez (didnt pass Alonso) and you think he can beat a double world champion? give your head a shake....

falcon 03-26-2012 09:42 AM

Yeah, I can. Three years ago people laughed at the idea that Vettel could be back to back WC at his age.

Bottom line is, the Ferrari car is not where it needs to be. Saubers car is better, easier on tires and with a hot shoe driver like Perez (look up his racing resume) I see no reason he can't beat Alonso.

Last time I checked he beat Vettel, Schumi, Kimi, Hamilton etc. last race. All of whom are WC or double + WC.

oh, and it was two decent races. I'd consider starting in 22md and finishing 8th in Australia to be more than just "decent."

I'm really excited to see what Kimi can do once he starts a race in the top 3 rows. He's had some bad luck with starting pos. the last two races and still managed to finish in 7th and 5th which is no easy feat.

StylinRed 04-13-2012 09:35 PM

Mercedes doing really well so far in practice

hopefully they'll finally have a good showing on race day instead of just performing admirably in practice/qualifying

bit of a shit storm over their wing too since they kind of found a loop hole in the rules to use it (there's holes in the wing that aren't in use until drs is deployed the holes give em even greater performance) but McLaren has still edged them out in the practices so far

HonestTea 04-13-2012 09:43 PM

c3m 04-15-2012 12:56 AM

^^^ It's the lighting system that screwed up.
The sensor is on the gun/lug and the gun was stuck so they had to take it out and the sensor goes off making the light turn green.

Rich Sandor 04-15-2012 01:13 AM

amazing race.

FUCK TSN. Fucking commercials cutting over the race and I have no idea what's going on. I won't watch it on TSN ever again even if it's live and local time zone.

BBC download FTW.

BRILLIANT DRIVE by Rosberg and Button!

I'll take P2, even after a bad qualifying lol

c3m 04-15-2012 08:06 AM

Kimi got screwed by his strategy
The top runners: Button, Hamilton and Webber all had 3 stop.

Lotus wanted Kimi to use his tires for 28 laps.... speechless.
Was hoping Kimi to be on the podium
