Damn! Imagine if the drivers were chilling with them as well :fullofwin::fullofwin:

Curious, how much did it all cost you? Flight, hotel, weekend pass?

Great68 06-11-2012 03:52 PM

Rough numbers for me and my wife:

Race weekend tickets, grandstand 12: $900
5 night hotel: $1400
Flights: $1300
Food, Souvenirs, transit/taxis etc: $1500

roastpuff 06-11-2012 11:17 PM

$1500 on souvenirs?! Holy crap man.

Selective reading? That includes dinner & drinks out every night.

But yeah, souvenirs are expensive. An official team ferrari/mclaren T-shirt is around $100.

roastpuff 06-12-2012 06:08 AM

Sorry, missed the food part. Saw souvenirs and went crazy over the figure lol.

I guess so... Damn, I have to budget a lot more if I want to see F1. :okay:

UFO 06-13-2012 08:42 AM

I don't normally watch F1 and haven't watched a race start to finish in years, but had this race PVR'd and damn it was a really entertaining race to watch and there weren't even any crashes. I get there will always be those who lament rule changes and neutered cars, but that didn't seem to be a problem at all for the entertainment value of this race. To me the casual observer it's nice that the levelled playing field is resulting in a tight points race instead of 2 guys going head to head every race every year ala Hill/MS back in the day.

Man, $5k doesn't go as far as it used to......must have been a great time!

Pooface55 06-13-2012 10:48 AM

One of the better F1 tracks, usually always has a good race. The long straight to the tight right hander :ahwow:

Pics of souvenirs? :)

Here's a comparison I made of some of the 2012 cars from Sunday in Montreal, you can see some of the smaller differences:

Anyways, Valencia is this weekend. The first lap will be okay and then the race will be over. Hopefully Mercedes can show some pace as they did in Monaco.

mb_ 06-20-2012 09:19 PM

Hopefully Schumi will finish Top 5 :ahwow: but he'll probably retire due to some technical malfunction :okay: :QQ:

mb_ 06-24-2012 04:59 AM

Hamilton's pit stop :lawl:

PODIUM FINISH FOR SCHUMI :fuckyea::fuckyea::fuckyea::fuckyea::fuckyea::joy: :joy::joy:

ExoticSupercars 06-24-2012 06:42 AM

Wow, that was one hell of a race, very very emotional in the end with Fernando. Also unbelievable that Vettel, Hamilton and Grosjean all did not finish! So happy for each guy on the podium!!!!

Most exciting race in Valencia since it started. Happy to see Kimi and MSC on the podium.

JulyZerg 06-24-2012 03:17 PM

MALDONADO = SHITTY

Congrats Schumi!

falcon 06-24-2012 03:53 PM

Actually, if you watch it a few times, Maldonado has a solid 3/4 of his car next to Hamilton before entering the first corner and on turn in. Hamilton at that point has to leave him room to stay on track. He forced Maldonado 4 wheels off track, where the car looked like it bucked sideways while going over the curbing and shot back towards the track. Imagine if there was no run off there and this happened in Monaco where there is a wall. Hamilton would surely be penalized for not leaving sufficient room on track once the front wheels of the overtaking car have passed the rear wheels/cockpit area of the car being overtaken.

Some will say it's a racing incident, personally I put the fault on Hamilton for forcing Maldonado off track.

Meowjin 06-24-2012 05:00 PM

Hamilton's fault even if he's not.involved

StylinRed 06-24-2012 05:59 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

AWESOME FUCKING RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe I decided against going to Valencia cuz I thought it'd be boring

This must be the best Valencia race ever!!

BWAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH HAMILTON AHAHAHAHAHA

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT GOOOOOOO MICHAAEEEELLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOT!!

I fell asleep during the race so I just finished watching it now

Awesome win for Alonso and so cool to see Raikkonen make it to the podium too, great race

As for the Hamilton Maldonado incident I can't see Maldonado being blamed here he had the line imo plus he had the push from the speed bump that pretty much knocked him into Hammy

3 world champs on the podium is quite a sight and the Valencia trophy is pretty dope

HonestTea 06-24-2012 06:26 PM

I think this is the only NON boring Valencia race...EVER LOL

I was like WHOAAAAAAA!!! when Vettel started slowing down, I was hoping Grosjean would've took the fight to Alonso or at least get P2(but than MSC wouldn't get a podium)

All Former Ferrari drivers on the podium too LOL Kimi/Alonso/Schumi and regarding Hamilton/Maldonado, looks like Maldonado t-boned Hamilton mid-corner, doesn't look like Hamilton's fault at all, maybe he was a bit TOO aggressive but hes still inside the track lines/racing line.

mb_ 06-24-2012 06:41 PM

You guys be the judge.. personally I think it was Hamilton's fault for forcing him off the track. But I hate Hamilton so my opinion is invalid LOL. F1 officials penalized Maldonaldo 20 seconds though.

:lawl: :fuckyea: :joy:

I can tell you have no racing experience, or understand how it's determined who gets "the line" based on car position on corner entry. Watch it again.

Racing is not just a melee where everyone goes all out and charges each corner or dive/bob around blocking passes. There are rules, written and non.

I dunno man, I've been karting since I was young, so I do have some racing experience ;) and to me, it looks like Maldonado was off track and rejoined dangerously.

And I'm going to guess, the Stewards and I have the same view, since Maldonado got a penalty and Hamilton didn't ;) And hell, if it was up to me, I'd probably give Maldonado a 5-10 place grid penalty for the next race. Just look at what MSC did to Bruno Senna and that warranted a 5 place grid penalty for the NEXT race. It's not the first time Maldonado let his emotions get the better of him (a la Perez and clipping the other driver in FP2)

Lewis would have given Maldonado room as he did to Grosjean earlier in the race, had he stayed on track. The reason why he got penalized was rejoining the race in an unsafe manner. Which points to Maldonado being at fault, I don't see how people would think Hamilton is at fault. Hell, even DC thought it was Maldonado's fault.

And I'm not a Hamilton fan, I'm happy that Button caught up a few points to Hamilton since I'm a HUGE Button supporter.

StylinRed 06-25-2012 12:23 AM

i think the stewards probably wanted to call it a racing incident but didn't want to cause a controversy so they simply gave maldonado a time penalty for this race alone
